Great facility but will not...

Liked: Honestly, this was one of the best facilities we’ve stayed at in OC, but we won’t be back. Everything about the rooms was great and they were very clean. The beds were decent. Great (more quiet) location with not too much boardwalk noise. The staff at the front desk were absolutely amazing and over the top with accommodating any request we may have had. Zach, in particular, was the pinnacle of customer service.
Disliked: The owner/manager was extremely rude and aggressive. We didn’t happen to get his name because he cut us off after we tried to squash whatever issue he had with us. We had two friends spontaneously drive down in the middle of the night. Zach, at the front desk, gave us an extra parking pass and we had the double room already so we had space for them. Zach, nor anyone else, mentioned having to do anything more to accommodate our two guests. We were only staying Friday to Sunday so Saturday was our only beach day. We headed out to the beach in the morning. Upon our return, around 4 PM, the owner/manager or whoever he was, practically walked into our room, literally blocking our doorway and gave us a hard time about our friends. Said we should have come down in the morning and added them to the room etc. because apparently there was supposed to be a charge, $15, per person and maybe something for the parking pass. He asked how we got the parking pass and we told him we simply asked for it. He then claimed we had 5 people with us, which we clarified we only had 2, and told him to search the room, as if we were, what, hiding people in the shower?! Regardless, according to Zach, who is apparently this guys son, we were supposed to be good. This guy ruined our whole experience over $30 and a power trip. That’s an absolute garbage personality for someone in hospitality. Despite this, my boyfriend tried to apologize for us not knowing any of this info, because it was never said to us, and offered to pay the extra $30. He told us that we were calling attention to ourselves and told us to “do what we had to do”. When we asked what we were doing to be such a problem, he laughed in our faces and said we’re done here and walked away. People like that shouldn’t be in this business. If we had known about any of these little charges we would have gladly taken care of them upfront. Also the pool closing at 6pm is really unfortunate.

Liked: The cleanliness of the room was refreshing. Proximity to the beach entrance was grand, and the 80s nostalgia was cool.

Liked: Just a relaxing short stay. We were there for the air show which was canceled, but still had a good time.
Disliked: Our room had no frig or microwave.
