Cozy Comfort Near Bangor's Music Scene

Modern convenience meets classic Maine charm at the Fireside Inn and Suites Bangor. Whether you're in town for a show or just exploring downtown Bangor, you're only minutes from major venues and local attractions.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can't beat the location—just steps from Hollywood Casino and within a mile of several popular Bangor concert venues. If you're flying in for a gig, you're only 3 miles from Bangor International Airport. After the show, retreat to a quiet and cozy room, and enjoy free parking and the option to grab a bite or drink without leaving the hotel. While check-in starts at 3:00 PM, the staff is accommodating for early arrivals, and the pace here is perfect for a low-key post-concert wind-down.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly base near the action
Solo travelers catching that once-in-a-lifetime show
Couples making a weekend out of a concert night
Fans seeking a peaceful space to crash after the encore
Budget-conscious music lovers who still want comfort and convenience

Food and Drink Options

The hotel features an on-site restaurant and bar, making grabbing dinner or a drink after a show super convenient. While there’s no 24/7 room service, having a microwave and fridge in your room means reheating late-night bites is easy. Breakfast is available, and it’s a solid choice for those sleepy mornings after a late encore.

Nightlife Options

You're just across the street from the casino, which often features live entertainment and late-night fun. Plus, downtown Bangor is just a short ride away, filled with bars, pubs, and lounges for a post-show drink or two. If you'd rather keep things low-key, the hotel's own bar offers a relaxing vibe with friendly service.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the unbeatable location near Bangor’s venues. Many reviewers highlight the hotel’s excellent value, especially for concert nights. The in-room fireplaces in select rooms are a big hit with couples looking for something a little special.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the hotel’s décor feels a little dated—but most agree it's clean and comfortable. Soundproofing isn’t perfect, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs just in case. And while breakfast is available, it's not complimentary, so factor that into your budget.

The Bottom Line

A warm, affordable, and well-located stay for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and a dash of Maine charm.

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Priscilla, Lyman, visiting Cross Insurance Center Sun, 29 October 2023

We only stayed one night in order to avoid driving after the concert. No regrets, would stay there again.

Liked: Cleanliness of a 5 star hotel. Attached Grille Bar serves wonderful meals. Go early, usually ' slammed'. Walking distance to the Cross Arena, at supper hour.
Disliked: In need of remodel to modernize.

I was extremely disappointed in...

Liked: We were given a pet friendly room when we did not request one. The room overwhelmingly smelled of wet dog. It was nauseating. I called the front desk and she said they were all booked so we could not have another room. We didn’t even want to take our clothes out to hang up because we were afraid the smell would get in them. We had to go buy a bottle of Febreeze to make it tolerable.
Disliked: Everything was dingy. The comforters on the beds were old looking. The beds were not comfortable.

Worked for the weekend

Liked: It was close to my daughters graduation which was at the cross center . It was close to restaurants, had pub on site and casino across the street.
Disliked: It was older , 1990’s decor and bathroom had issues with toilet not flushing. It definitely could use an upgrade, but worked for the weekend.

Dog friendly and great staff

Liked: The staff were friendly and efficient. The parking was incredibly convenient for our room. They allow dogs, which was required for my stay and the room was very clean, if not a bit outdated. Geaghan's pub is in the same building as the hotel, so easy to get food whenever they are open. The casino is about 200 feet away from the motel, so easy to walk over and check it out.
Disliked: Bangor, as a city, has really gone into a depression. The homeless population has increased significantly and they have been badly hit by the opioid epidemic and bath salts. While mostly harmless, it can be very unnerving.
