Lovely birthday celebration in Northamptonshire...

Liked: Gorgeous location, property with interesting history, high level of service with attention to detail. Plenty of sauna options in the spa. Air conditioning in our room, which was great as we visited on a hot day. Comfortable bed, good shower and massive bath towels.
Disliked: Room and hallway looked a little tired in places. Coffee at breakfast tasted terrible. Spa would benefit from an ice fountain! Reception staff deserve nicer-looking uniforms.

Liked: Breakfast was very good.
Disliked: The swimming pool was too warm. We had hoped for a refreshing swim before breakfast, but the temperature of the water was not refreshing at all.

Liked: The restaurant and service was excellent.
Disliked: The room was on the first floor and the stairs were incredibly steep. There was no one to help with the luggage, so had to carry my bag myself. The room was extremely hot and had a strange smell. Wasn't told there was a fridge in the room until we asked for milk for our coffee. There was no top sheet on the bed which you would expect in a prestige hotel. It would have been very welcome during the heat wave.

Fantastic hotel and beautiful location..

Liked: It is difficult to put into words how fantastic the experience we had here was. The building was beautiful, the food delicious, every member of staff we came into contact with was incredibly helpful, courteous, upbeat and knowledgeable. A truly fantastic hotel. I am already looking for another of their properties to stay at soon. Great place!!

Liked: From check-in to check-out everything was fabulous. Everybody was so helpful and polite. We booked an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary and we were surprised with a lovely message and cakes. We had the tasting menu and the food was delicious. Very good value for money. The spa facilities were top notch.Highly recommended
