Lovely place, shame about the...
Liked: Very pretty house with a lovely garden. The interior has been decorated very nicely. Very good choice of breakfast from a menu, not a buffet, which is a treat. We didn?t eat dinner there as we were visiting family but we know the restaurant is good from previous visits. The road is quiet at night.
Disliked: Would have given full ten marks if it weren?t for the bed. Too small for two full sized adults and way too soft, and also the shower had really feeble water pressure. Shame as it was a lovely room.

A quintessentially British hotel packed...
Liked: From the moment we pull into the car park we new we were going to like the Farthings. The grounds are manicured and reflect the care that has been taken to make our stay so enjoyable. We were greeted by staff who were friendly and interested in use - not as a commodity or even the scripted and fained routine of more commercial places and I?m glad to say this attitude of helpfulness and care continued through our stay. Our room was large and yet cosy and spotlessly clean with not a hint of dust or trace that anyone else had been there. Our window looked out onto the front with the road and then the village green and hills in the distance. We like to sleep with the windows open so at first were concerned that we would be disturbed by traffic noise but it?s not a busy road and it seems that all traffic stops after about 9.30. Further exploration of the grounds revealed a well maintenance cottage garden full of seasonal fruit and veg and chickens, geese and a host of other animals. Now to the piece de resistance - the food. The attention to design, taste and detail so evident in the rest of the hotel and gardens culminates in the food. The menus are well thought through and every plate is beautifully presented with each component part complimenting and enhancing its neighbour. Each bite oozes personality and if, as we managed to do, you take your time your nose and pallet will be rewarded sometimes with explosions and other times more subtle experiences that linger and turn into smiles. In essence the Farthings is run as hotels should be - would we go again or recommend it to friends - not arf
Disliked: I?m not entirely sure this is a good or bad thing but the internet isn?t city fast

A lovely place
Liked: very pretty rooms and a lovely garden. Restaurant menu is ambitious and a refreshing change from the run of the mill pub menus. Breakfast is particularly good with a wide range of options. There is a fridge with bottles of cold water and fresh milk on the landing for guests.
Disliked: Some lighter options on the menu would be good. Some of the beds are quite small for couples!

Ok
Liked: Breakfast very good. Dinner good. Room hard towels. Cheap loo roll. Only had slim line tonic and only 1 type. Chef needs to proof read menu a little closer.
Disliked: Owner needs to try and interact or at least learn how to pull a pint.
