Great location, but the room...

Liked: •Very well located, right by the canal•Everything is within walking distance•Fair price compared to other hotels in the area
Disliked: •Broken window and it was very hot in the room•Ground floor with a view of a wall•No shower gel, no bath mat• The tap had very low water pressure•No bedside tables•Dirty floors and bathroom•Very small room•Damaged furniture and peeling paint•The hotel manager woke us up in the morning by shouting at our window (while we were sleeping) because we had tried to open the window using another method because we were too hot and couldnt sleep

Disappointing

Liked: Location is good.
Disliked: The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable, not suitable for 2 people and really worned (there was a hole in the middle from long use).The room was quite dirty. Airplaine route is above this area, so multiple times a day passing airplaines are loud. No storage except 1 chair and 2 small nightstands.

They have bed bugs :(

Liked: At first, the room seemed good, basic but good. We were really happy to have access to the patio with windows that opened (which was essential as the room was quite hot and there was no fan). You're really paying for the location. Once you're there, you get a room key so you can come and go when you want, which is good. Staff seem friendly enough - we needed a really late check-in because our train got delayed and we arrived at 1am and they were happy enough to accommodate this. Probably another reason we didn't notice the bed bugs when we got in because we were so tired.
Disliked: On the second night, we were relaxing in the room when we started to notice lots of bugs on the sheets. It was late by this point and we were exhausted, but we couldn't stay in that room. We left the room at 2am to go to the station to wait and then called the reception at around 8am to explain to them the situation. On the phone, they said they couldn't see them, but agreed to refund us one night as we'd left so early. The bed had a black fabric headboard, so we think that's where they came from and why we hadn't noticed them earlier, but once they came out, they were everywhere - even on the floor and crawling up the walls in the bathroom. If I hadn't been so exhausted, I would have been so upset and grossed out. We then spent the whole next day in Amsterdam, waiting for our train at 6 pm on no sleep, which was hardcore. Still managed to have a good time - it's a great city. But you really need to feel safe and have somewhere comfortable to come back to because there's a lot going on. Really hope they can get this problem sorted.

Liked: Absolutely loved Mary the owner, she is so warm, welcoming and helpful! The location of the property is also brilliant! The beds were cosy! Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again!
