Why Concert-goers love it

You can't get much closer to the action—Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is just a short walk from major venues like the Bell Centre and is directly connected to both metro lines and Montreal's underground city. That means easy, weather-proof access to late-night shows and after-parties. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM, giving you time to sleep in after a long night of music. Despite its central location, the hotel offers a restful, sound-insulated stay—ideal after a loud encore.

Nightlife Options

You're steps away from some of Montreal’s best nightlife. The hotel’s own bar serves up local craft cocktails in a chic setting, while the surrounding downtown district is packed with late-night lounges, pubs, and live music venues. Whether you're pre-gaming or winding down, you won’t have to venture far.

What People Say

Guests rave about the central location, calling it ideal for concerts at the Bell Centre. Many love the comfortable beds, modern decor, and attentive service. The unique art collection and historical touches—especially the Lennon suite—stand out as highlights. Travelers consistently mention the convenience of being connected to both the train and metro stations.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the lobby can get busy during peak check-in times. A few reviewers note that the hotel’s pricing is on the higher side, but most agree it’s worth it for the location and amenities. If you're driving, parking can be expensive—public transit is definitely the way to go here.

Bad

Liked: Good location and when I was about to leave, we realized my daughter left something in the room and the lovely guy that was at the hall from housekeeping was friendly and helpful
Disliked: I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment with the service I received during my recent stay at [Hotel Name], which fell far short of the standards I have come to expect from a five-star establishment — particularly as a recurring guest at your hotels around the world. When making my reservation, I specifically requested a crib for my two-year-old daughter and informed the hotel that we would be arriving past midnight. Unfortunately, despite this clear communication, the experience upon arrival was extremely poor. Our flight was delayed, and we ultimately arrived at the hotel at approximately 2:30 a.m. — only to discover that our room was not ready. After having to wait at that hour, carrying a tired two-year-old, we were assigned a room at the very end of the hall. The room was incredibly small and clearly unsuitable for three people. More frustratingly, there was no crib in the room as requested in advance. When I called reception to inquire, I was told that the request had only just been submitted and that housekeeping would soon bring a crib. I expressed concern that the room was too small for a crib to fit comfortably, to which the receptionist assured me that housekeeping would rearrange the furniture. When the crib finally arrived — delivered by an unfriendly staff member — no attempt was made to rearrange the furniture. It was left to me, at nearly 3:30 a.m., after a long day of travel, to move furniture myself so that we could have minimal space to move around the room. The following morning, any hope for rest was ruined by the repeated sound of a door being slammed — at least 15 times — directly in front of our room. I initially thought it was another guest, but upon checking, I discovered it was a housekeeper cleaning a room with a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, showing complete disregard for guest comfort. This entire experience was unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a five-star property.

Bad

Liked: Facilities and location
Disliked: Service is to be desired. We had a problem with the credit card so we were asked put the deposit onto debit card for a $200 deposit for miscellaneous items. But then our in room fridge bar was locked out because we didn’t have a credit card on file. When we asked service desk we were told just that and that they will speak to a manager and get back to us. No one did in 24 hours. Wasn’t it the reason for a $200 deposit? There were constant lines upon checking in and checking out with only one person working at the front most of the time, two at the most. Staffing issues should not happen during your most busiest times. Valet service was completely insane. After checking in downstairs with the valet office, we have waited for 40 minutes to get our car. No one explains or communicates anything, no one is asking for the tickets. Employees seem untrained and disconnected from what service they should be providing. That was our first experience at your hotel and with so many things gone wrong in less than 24 hours, it’s hard to trust the hotel. I hope you can fix the issues as the overall hospitality part absolutely atrocious.
