Tired and dirty. Not value...

Liked: Bedrooms were beautiful and spacious and beds/pillows were very comfortable. Reception staff, Whiskey bar staff and Embers Grill staff were very pleasant. Cocktail at Whiskey bar was excellent, buffet breakfast was good. Gardens are lovely.
Disliked: All common areas were unclean. Floors were filthy and over the 2 days we stayed were not vacuumed so we retired for the evening looking at very messy floors and woke to have breakfast looking at those same messy floors. Carpets in common areas particularly dining areas were very old, worn and stained. There didn't seem to be enough staff to keep on top of clearing and cleaning tables and sweeping up food spills in the coffee/ bar cafe so it was not pleasant sitting in there to have a coffee or meal. Parts of inside and most of the outside of the building need painting and some renovating. There is no guest elevator that gets mobility impaired people from lobby down/up to whiskey bar or from lobby down/up to Embers or Buffet. When we asked for my friend who needed to get to these areas, we were escorted through the bowels of the kitchen, storage area where the staff only lift can access ( a pretty awful experience for what is supposed to be a high end resort).Check in time is 3pm (one hour after many other places) and only one of our 2 rooms was ready by 3pm and the second room not until 4pm.

Disliked: Facilities are tailored to families and children. No spaces dedicated to adults only. Not worth the money if you plan to travel for a calm and relaxing weekend away.
