Liked: What we liked most was the stunning location and the magical atmosphere of the property — staying in a castle surrounded by the mountains
Disliked: Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, especially compared to the exceptional stay we had just come from at Fairmont Lake Louise. We checked out on time from Lake Louise and arrived at Banff Springs around midday — the team knew we were coming, but despite that, our room wasn’t ready early. More frustratingly, even the 4 p.m. check-in promise wasn’t honored, and we only got access to our room much later. This caused a lot of stress, particularly as we were traveling with children and had evening plans, but couldn’t get ready in time. When we finally entered the room, it was underwhelming — quite small, with a tiny bathroom, and not worth the high price point. We also had a disappointing dinner at the Waldhaus restaurant, where we were seated in a loud basement-like area surrounded by people cheering for a game — far from the elevated experience we expected. While the staff was generally friendly, the concierge service lacked the attentiveness and effectiveness we’ve come to associate with Fairmont properties.

Liked: The Fairmont Banff was an absolutely GORGEOUS hotel, the view from the room was incredible, the staff was more than helpful from the second we checked in and throughout our stay. The views were phenomenal, the food was fantastic and we just felt like royalty. It wasn't just a hotel. It was an entire experience. We had a really wonderful time and made some great memories.
Disliked: We were there for four nights but we wish it had been longer!

Liked: Everything was amazing. Every member of staff we spoke to was so friendly and welcoming, the hotel is so beautiful, the facilities and activities included amazing and the room was so comfortable. I couldn’t fault it at all. We didn’t want to leave!
