Not The Best!
Liked: Breakfast. Universal Studios Representative on site (limited hours).
Disliked: Short staffed. Dated rooms. Poor air conditioning unit.

Liked: Staff was very courteous, helpful and accommodating. Shuttle bus to and from Universal Studios. Walking distance to restaurants and stores
Disliked: The hotel had a horrible odor from the time we walked in the lobby, to the elevator to the rooms. Bathroom shower had cracks that were sealed. Waffle makers not functioning properly. Never enough towels. Needs major updating . Keys to the room took multiple times to reset in order to get into our rooms.

Liked: Parking was easy, check staff were friendly and hotel is clean.
Disliked: Breakfast was average, buffet style using disposable plates, cups and utensils - I felt this was not good for the environment, with lots of rubbish if this can?t be recycled.

Acceptable, but a smell of...
Liked: An Uber to Universal Studios cost about US$6.50, and they were really easy to find. The pool was fantastic to use to stretch out after and before a flight, and after a long day of walking the theme parks; Short laps were entirely possible.
Disliked: Although the hotel was entirely acceptable, and probably on-par with the competition, I personally have a few niggles: There was a definite odour to the room: It smelt like old carpet (damp). The air-conditioning was noisy. Some staff were very courteous, while others didn't seem to know what they were doing. There's a booking desk, but all they seem to know is Universal, and how to up-sell meal plans and overcrowded & overpriced shuttle services (tip: just get an Uber: faster, cheaper, more convenient). The elevators are extremely slow. Breakfast was acceptable, but not great. Hawkers from external businesses were placing pamphlets under doors (no security). There's a fire station next door, but the A/C was so noisy, I never heard a siren. All in all, not enough to leave a negative rating, but for the price I paid (with AUD conversion rates), I don't feel like I get the best value. The hotel is lacking basic long-term maintenance, but this is probably par for the course in Orlando at this price point.
