Disliked: This past weekend, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in St. Charles, IL, so we could attend our granddaughter's wedding. We accessed the internet to find the precise hotel information so we could find the correct phone number to make our reservation through the particular hotel where we planned to stay. This website showed the exact hotel, including the address and pictures of the rooms. When I made the reservations, Alex told me that he did have senior as well as retired military discounts available; but that they would not apply to our particular reservation. He gave no reason why, but gave advice for us to check at the desk when we check in. We asked at the desk if there were any discounts that could be applied to our reservation. We were told "No!". Next morning, upon checking out after our stay, I asked once again if there were any applicable senior or military retired discounts that could be applied to our account. This time, the girl at the desk said, "No! There is nothing I can do because you went through a 3rd party to make this reservation." I insisted that I NEVER make my reservations through 3rd party means. I explained that I purposefully went to the actual Hotel online and used the phone number listed for this particular hotel. She rudely came back with "You DID make your reservations through a 3rd party! There is nothing I can do about it now!" She told me that she has no bill showing my charges; and in fact has no idea what I paid for that particular room because I "made the reservation through a 3rd party"; and they do all their own billing. I insisted that I must have a copy of my bill! The young lady at the counter told me that if I had gone to Fairfield's website, it was subject to some other entity making our reservations in behalf of Fairfield Inn & Suites! She told me that we should have gone through Marriott to be sure we spoke with the specific hotel.

Enjoyable comfortable refreshing stay
Liked: Check inn personnel very friendly and helpful ! Clean comfortable room, enjoyed the pool & hot tub ! Location was most convenient for business we needed to take care of ! Breakfast was delicious and filling ! Great start to our busy day !
Disliked: Only had 1 washcloth

Liked: The breakfast selections were wonderful! In addition I found the beds very comfortable.
Disliked: This was my second stay here in the past 3 months, and both times I was disappointed by: 1) the supports in the floor, both in my room and the room above, as unless a patron stepped very gingerly, every step resulted in a thundering, pounding-like noise. This sound from above actually interrupted my sleep; and 2) the TV service was often interrupted by a "no signal" message at random intervals. An additional frustration is that the channel "menu" does not list the title of what is showing, EVER. "Information unavailable" is what is listed under the channel menu. So you never know what you are watching at any time. This is not acceptable in my humble opinion.
