Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Washington DC/Downtown

Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly. We checked out late and valet staff were very efficient and had no problems getting our vehicle.
Disliked: No room service menu in the room; when called front desk was told to come down to get one; when went down they told my daughter they would bring one to the room - we never received one. We had to look the menu on line before placing an order.

Room was clean and inviting.

Liked: Staff made us feel very welcomed and were quick to answer any questions we had during our stay.
Disliked: Nothing.

Decent spot for a short...

Liked: We enjoyed the breakfast, and the location in relation to the multiple landmarks in the area were within walking distance, which was very convenient.
Disliked: The room was small (2 queen beds, 2 adults and 2 kids), but we made it work. We travel often and this room was physically smaller than many we have been to. The beds were very soft, and my kids commented that they felt "lumpy". The air conditioning was also very loud, the blower itself was loud but it would also kick up a notch when cooling and startle us when we were trying to fall asleep. And although this was not a problem due to the hotel itself, our neighbor was so unbelievably loud at night...between 11 and 1 both nights we stayed that initially it sounded like she was outside our door in the hall. However, the loud AC did help to drown her out a bit (again we made the best of it). I just couldn't believe how we could hear her conversations so clearly!

Liked: Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Disliked: It was read as though parking was included, but parking was by valet only for a significant additional cost. The room was smaller then expected but my biggest issue is the DC taxes over a hundred dollars for a two night stay.
