Friendly staff, good location, but...

Liked: The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming at check-in. The lobby looked clean and modern. Our beds were comfortable — we got a good night's sleep. The breakfast offered a lot of variety: omelets, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and both white and chocolate milk in cartons. The indoor pool was large (though we didn’t use it).D Despite some reviews mentioning car break-ins, we didn’t have any issues with parking during our stay.
Disliked: The entire hotel is carpeted, which I personally don’t prefer. The hallways were uneven making it hard to push the luggage rack. The pool isn’t heated — we chose not to swim after hearing from staff that the water was too cold. The corners of the room had hair balls and dirt. It just didn't feel or look clean. Most concerning: I found a cockroach in my room. I immediately reported it to the front desk. I was told there were no other rooms available and that, because I booked through Booking.com, they couldn’t move me. I contacted Booking.com, and while they couldn’t relocate us, they did promise a full refund, which I appreciate. I kept all my things off the floor. At checkout, I brought the cockroach to the front desk in a cup. The staff apologized and said they would call pest control, but the experience definitely affected how comfortable I felt.
