Construction underway- Avoid

Liked: The location near downtown and the C&O bike path is great. Rooms are spacious. Guest laundry is available. The staff are friendly and checked us in early.
Disliked: The hotel is a bit of a war zone with construction going on throughout. The noise can be deafening. The workers tie up both hotels so sometimes we had to take the stairs down four flights. Breakfast is a reduced menu and water was leaking from several points on the ceiling. Most of the Libby is blocked off with plastic sheeting. My “new room” smelled of paint and drywall (was warned). There were supposed to be two TV’s but there was just one since the large ones were in order. Bathroom sink did not drain. Curtain rods fell off. The room was bla..no color or artwork. This hotel should have been totally closed for renovations. I asked several times to speak to the manager, Jennifer, but that did not happen.

Liked: Our room was clean and large enough to accommodate us. Kellie in Housekeeping replaced our towels and cleaned our room daily.
Disliked: Our entire stay was great.

Liked: Location. Hotel is showing it's age but an update is in progress.
Disliked: TV was very small for room size. Screen featured lights from behind the screen.. Obviously old and in need of replacement. Check in was a nightmare. Because we had two rooms but both on the same reservation they said we only had one room. Never asked for the other person's name. Also said I pre-paid via Booking.com. I didn't. In the morning totally different. Efficient desk person who knew what she was doing. I was never billed twice.

Modern hotel but with construction...

Liked: This hotel sits right next to the C&O bike path and conveniently located near downtown shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff, as always, is really great.
Disliked: The hotel is undergoing major renovations. The whole lobby/breakfast area is closed. Workmen start banging and drilling all around your room from 8-6. The workmen and maids tie up the elevators which caused a ten minute wait at one point. Breakfast has been moved to a conference room, and the food options have been reduced. All this made the stay a bit unpleasant.
