Extended Stay America Suites - Washington DC - Alexandria - Eisenhower Ave.

Room was very neat and clean. Loved the homelike atmosphere of the room. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to this area. Great price. Will definitely tell my family, friends, and co-workers.

Disliked: Did not enjoy the flat screen TV. Picture was too dark. Minor issue.

Disliked: The stay was perfectly fine, above average even very clean place, quiet, comfy.....UNTIL I tried to extend a night after having been there for two already. I have a service dog and made this known from the first check in. When I went to desk to complete the second booking I was asked about my dog. I responded he is service animal and I then proceeded to go fetch the document of proof up on request if staff member. One she examined the letter she stated that the animal.is emotional support, she did not attest to the validity of the document which is a letter stating the mental health reason for my dogs service. She proceeded to tell me emotional support animal is not a service dog and does not fall under that clause. She then enlisted another staff member to agree with her findings. I have worked hotels (front desk, front end supervisor, guest relations and assistant management, I have a very good understanding of the process and I also understand the concerns over the animal. However it is against HIPPA to discriminate against ANY service pet when the proper documentation has been shown. I did not argue, I was highly offended and upset and put in a situation where I had to quickly rearrange my stay.Allow me to share something with you, perhaps you can share it with your staff to avoid future law suites.Also, in the rush if having to exit the room and rebook elsewhere, very important documentation was left behind. Birth certificate, passport, other important papers. They were in a letter size white envelope and shouldn't have been mistaken as trash. Could you please look into this for me.
