Mild Chaos, But Decent Overall

Liked: Very good for long-term stay -- if you ignore the fact that renting a proper apartment for actual long-term stay is still cheaper. There is a stove for cooking, which I didn't use. A full fridge with a separate freezer section. And the laundry room is decent. You could basically live here pretty well in the single room I had for a very good period of timeFor the single room I had, there was a very nice central counter between the bed and the kitchen area with very convenient power outlets on the wall beside it. Overall, the arrangement for the room was extraordinarily good for long-term stay. This is arguably better than the apartment dorms I had in University, and we had needlessly nice apartment rooms to boot. Fairly decently maintained overall, though maybe a little old and worn with a few gimmicky arrangementsLocation is pretty good, being close to a shopping center along with the local DMV if you need to head there for some reason. There is also a buffet located in another nearby shopping center. Bus is a short walk away as well if you need itWorth a consideration if you are staying for a considerable duration but will not settle down permanently -- at least if you don't need to deal with having a proper address for documents and mail
Disliked: Unfortunately, there were too many similarities with student housing here. One being the fire alarm going off... not once, not twice, but three times in the same day -- and one of those was at midnight. Very much like student housing indeed with the fire alarm being set off at midnight. The room I was in had a very conspicuously removed smoke detector that was set on top of the fridge, and the room had a faint residual smell of smoke (despite the supposed non-smoking room label - either a former resident or something through some vents somewhere). We do not actually know what set off the alarms, as it was an empty room that triggered the alarms. Some suspicions with humidity or whatnot as it rained, but no concrete evidence of anything (I suspect vents and disconnected smoke detectors in other rooms, but who knows how all of those are connected)The deadbolt for the particular room did not work as it was blocked off by the plate. The restroom may or may not have had a ventilation fan that was not working. Room itself wasn't fully cleaned, as I would find out the area below the bed had sticky residue on the floor while I tried to fetch something that rolled under it. Was decently cleaned otherwise thoughShower curtain and toilet positions were awkwardly placed so the curtain would be up in your face while sitting on the toilet if the curtain were spread out, at least for the room I was in. Fridge opened awkwardly, which made it extremely difficult to use as you needed to squeeze right into the corner before opening the door to have access to its inside contents (fridge was designed so they can move the door hinge to open from the other side if needed, which they seemed to not have done)Basically, you get what you pay for. This is probably one of the places they send people they are trying to help get off the streets, which I am inferring from some conversations with some people but have no actual confirmations here
