Extended Stay America Select Suites - Grand Rapids - Kentwood

After reading the reviews I was a bit nervous about staying here. People were saying it was noisy, dirty, etc. - not the case. Room was very clean and quiet on the 3rd floor. Hallway and elevator had a strong smell but it wasn't in the room. There weren't many TV channels but it was fine since we only stayed for a night. Good room for a cheap price.

Disliked: Smell in hallway and elevator. Not many TV channels.

Very nice stay. Room was clean and we were very satisfied. Staff was very pleasant. We didn't think the beds were too comfy, but they were manageable.

Liked: Loved the kitchen.
Disliked: Beds were not comfy.

Nice quiet hotel.

Liked: Breakfast was okay. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Wifi was good.
Disliked: Someone left one of the luggage caddies with a small dresser on it out in the parking lot. I notified a staff member, but the front desk was shut down and the caddie sat outside over night. In the morning, I made mention of it to the front desk. The receptionist said others had told her about it, but she was short staffed and couldn't retrieve it herself. Eventually someone did return it to the lobby later that day, but it left me with a sour impression that it occurred and how it was (eventually) handled.

Would not stay here again...

Liked: The location was the only thing that was good.
Disliked: The property was not clean at all, inside or outside. I felt very uncomfortable sleeping at this hotel and would have left but everything else was sold out.

Kinda gross but its better...

Liked: Decent price, I brought my own kitchenware ware but the place was not very clean.
Disliked: The bed was clean, which is really an important part, but the whole room was not very clean. I'm pretty sure I saw boogers on the headboard, the underneath of the cabinet looked like the inside of a dirty microwave, and the bathroom kind of smelled like a cat. Overall, the room was kinda gross, but it's what I expected for the price, better than a Motel 6. I didn't need a 5-star hotel, just something cheap with a kitchen for 2 days. I was excited to leave, and I'm glad I never have to come back.
