Nice, clean and modern. Comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. Tasty breakfast. Food and drinks reasonably priced. Noisy guests and paper thin walls.

Great stop over offering good...

Liked: Check in was easy, full english breakfast was great. Clean and tidy.
Disliked: A noisy party of golfing guests were loud during breakfast, but this is not really the hotels problem. The room was on the smaler side, but still met all the needs.

Fine for the price.

Liked: Staff seemed very lovely particularly in the restaurant. All in all, fine for the price.
Disliked: Family room very small for 2 adults and 2 children - pretty much space for the beds only. Hadn't been cleaned particularly well (dead insects on the window sill for example). Would say the breakfast was pretty average.

Good place to stay as...

Liked: Convenient location for a stop over on the way to Cornwall. Room was fine, evening meal plenty of choice and breakfast well presented and good quality.

Good for Powderham link

Liked: Comfortable and originally booked for proximity to a festival at Powderham Castle - ideal for that
Disliked: Room was stuffy but kept window open

Don't overlook this hidden gem

Liked: What a hidden gem. You could see instantly on arrival that they take great pride in this place. The grounds are lovely and everything is spotless. The bedrooms was a double and single and was beautifully decorated and appointed. The bathroom with walk in shower was fabulous.Couldn't fault Breakfast and every member of staff from reception to room attendants to waiting staff was so friendly and courteous. What a bargain. I will return.
