The Spotlight on EXchange Hotel Vancouver

Downtown Sophistication Steps from the Stage

Modern, stylish, and located right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the EXchange Hotel Vancouver is a chic base for music fans looking to stay close to the action. With upscale design, a lively on-site Mediterranean bar and restaurant, and thoughtful amenities like free WiFi and 24-hour reception, it's a great pick for concert-goers who want style and convenience.
You're just a short stroll from major venues, the Waterfront Centre Mall, and the Vancouver Lookout, with the Convention Center and Olympic Cauldron both within walking distance.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel’s unbeatable location near Vancouver’s top venues means you can walk to your show and be back in your room in minutes. Despite being downtown, the rooms offer a surprisingly quiet and peaceful atmosphere—perfect for winding down after a big night. The 24-hour front desk is a plus for late arrivals or post-show questions, and the noon check-out gives you time to sleep in after a night of music.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for style and walkability
  • Solo travelers ticking off bucket-list concerts
  • Couples making a full weekend of it
  • Fans needing a quiet space to recharge post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want upscale vibes

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Hydra Estiatorio Mediterranean & Bar is a standout, serving up fresh Greek seafood and craft cocktails in a vibrant glass-enclosed setting. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the central location puts you within walking distance of plenty of late-night dining options. Perfect for grabbing a bite after the encore. Breakfast is available, and the stylish ambiance makes morning-after meals feel like part of the experience.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, its sleek bar is a great pre-show meetup spot. And being downtown, you’re surrounded by Vancouver’s buzzing bars and lounges—whether you want craft beer, cocktails, or a spot to keep the night going.

What People Say

Guests love the prime location, calling it “perfect for events and concerts.” Rooms are described as modern, clean, and quiet, and the staff earns praise for being friendly and accommodating. The on-site restaurant also gets high marks for its atmosphere and fresh Mediterranean flavors.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that while the hotel is luxurious, parking can be limited and a bit pricey. Also, there’s no spa or pool—so if post-concert soaking is your thing, you’ll need to look elsewhere. But for most, the pros far outweigh these minor trade-offs.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a show in downtown Vancouver and want a stylish, well-located stay with great food and a quiet place to crash, EXchange Hotel Vancouver hits all the right notes.

Liked: Our room was very weird . It had an L shaped hallway right inside the door. Nowhere to put your suitcases. Hard to move around. Smaller room than I thought we were getting. Very high priced for what it was. Super friendly and helpful staff though !!
Disliked: I stated that in the above answer.

Liked: Location, comfort, the premises extremely clean. The staff is extremely helpful and polite.
Disliked: No flexible shower. In such high class hotel I would expect flexible shower, would be more convenient for women travelers.

Payment was too complicated to...

Liked: The staff working there were helpful, friendly, and attentive to detail. I appreciated having a Bellhop desk at the front to guide us and help with security. Overall the facility was, while a little small, lovely and extremely clean. The location was great. I would be glad to stay there again except....
Disliked: .... the hotel has a very strange payment policy I've never encountered before: a guest needs to show, upon checkin the physical credit card that was used to make the pre-payment. Therefore, despite having prepaid in full for the room with a digital credit card, I was asked to pay a second time with a physical credit card, and then play a sort of financial shell game while I waited 24 hours for the hotel to refund my digital card. The other option given was "you can just upload a photo of your passport, a selfie, and all of your identifying details to our affiliate's website." This is not a safe request with a guest's private information. It must be challenging for business travellers whose companies prepay with the company card. Is the business traveller asked to pay with their personal card and then hope that their company will reimburse them when refunded? Other than the difficulty with payment, the only other issue was that luggage storage was in a public space, unsupervised around the corner from the check-in desk. While it would have been difficult for thieves to steal an entire bag from this area, anyone with quick reflexes could open a briefcase and take small items unnoticed. I would encourage this hotel to create a locked luggage storage room.
