The Spotlight on evo Hotel Salt Lake City

Urban Style Meets Mountain Vibe in the Heart of Salt Lake City

Modern, adventurous, and effortlessly cool, evo Hotel Salt Lake City blends industrial-chic design with an outdoor lifestyle ethos. Located in the revitalized Granary District, this boutique hotel is just over a mile from downtown’s biggest venues and nightlife, putting you close to the action without compromising on style or comfort. With perks like free WiFi, a rooftop terrace, fitness center, and ski storage, it’s built for travelers who want to do more than just sleep between shows.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short ride—or even a brisk walk—from top Salt Lake City venues like the Salt Palace Convention Center and downtown music halls. The vibe here is lively but not loud, so you can wind down peacefully after a show. The hotel’s 24-hour front desk makes late-night arrivals easy, and with the airport just under 4 miles away, getting in and out after a weekend of music is a breeze.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends heading to a festival together
Solo travelers chasing their dream setlist
Couples turning a concert into a weekend escape
Fans who crave a calm place to recharge after the encore
Budget-conscious travelers who still want boutique flair

Food and Drink Options

Fuel up after a long night with an à la carte breakfast served on-site. While there’s no full restaurant, the surrounding Granary District is full of walkable food spots, breweries, and quick bites. Grab a drink at the hotel’s on-site bar, or order in for a low-key evening in your room. While 24/7 room service isn't available, the front desk is happy to help you track down late-night eats nearby.

Nightlife Options

Though evo Hotel doesn’t host live music itself, you’re steps from some of the city’s best bars, lounges, and music venues. From underground clubs to intimate rooftops, the local scene is buzzing just outside your door. The on-site bar is a great place to start your night with craft drinks and conversation.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s modern design and welcoming staff. Many love its unique fusion of city and mountain culture, with the in-house gear shop and climbing gym adding extra appeal. Clean, comfortable rooms and a laid-back but stylish atmosphere make it a favorite for travelers who want something a little different.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that parking can be limited during busy weekends, so plan ahead if you’re driving. Also, while the hotel is close to downtown, it’s in a developing area—great for exploring, but a bit quieter than the heart of the city.

The Bottom Line

evo Hotel Salt Lake City is the perfect base for concert-goers who want style, comfort, and a location close to the music—all without the downtown price tag.

Quick stop while passing through...

Liked: Perfect for off the high way, nice brewery behind the hotel with good pizza (and I’m from NJ). Across from classic car museum. Loved the roof top bar. Fizz was amazing!! She really knew the area and helped us out with an awesome breakfast spot by the park Briggs at the front next was super nice and helped us to figure out the lighting. (You have to put your card in a slot it helps conserve energy). Free coffee as the bistro in the morning. Good water pressure in the shower
Disliked: Would have like an additional light in the bedroom.

Passable

Liked: Building/complex were nice/relatively new. Staff was friendly.
Disliked: Surprised there isn’t more feedback on location…I would say the immediate surrounding area was not great. Homeless shelter around the block. Definitely saw some used needles on the sidewalks around the hotel. Wouldn’t stay here if you want to galavant outside at night and feel secure.

Liked: I stayed at Evo Hotel in Salt Lake City for one night. The design and concept are definitely interesting, but the practical experience fell short.
Disliked: The room lacked shelves, counter space, and a closet, and the concrete floors made it hard to tell how clean the room really was. The window doesn’t open, and the TV is small and mounted too high. The hallways smelled like a gym, and there was no laundry room. The reception was largely absent, which made check-in and questions inconvenient. Overall, it’s a visually appealing space, but it’s far from a full-service hotel experience. The price didn’t quite match the practical shortcomings.

Liked: I liked everything! I would add an icemaker on the room levels independent of getting it from the front desk, cafe or bar. It would be easier for everyone. Loved that you had coffee onsite!Great shopping! Very interesting neighborhood industrial and clearly up and coming!
Disliked: No specific area for dogs to do their business Would prefer the parking area was not gravel but paved at some point

Fix the parking

Liked: The property was very nice, modern, and really captured the outdoorsy vibes of Salt Lake City.
Disliked: The parking is atrocious. There is no hotel specific parking, only street parking. It was bad to begin with and one night there was a concert down the street and the parking was all taken by attendees. We spent 45 minutes looking for parking and ended up having to park 6 blocks away. When I confronted the front desk person she basically said I know but that’s just how it is. I have never had such a terrible parking situation at a hotel and they really should have designated parking, especially if there is an event nearby.

Dangerous neighborhood! Check SLC crime...

Liked: Bouldering gym was fun although crowded
Disliked: Our car window was smashed in and luggage stolen while we were parked in the street parking overnight for the hotel. We were not informed this is a very bad area and the security is extremely lacking. No other parking option is available so if you stay here, you are taking your chances that your car will be broken into or stolen. The hotel website advertises many amenities, which were fun to use, but not worth the $2000 in rental car damage or $1000 stolen items.
