Absolutely horrible and would never...

Liked: It was cheap
Disliked: The staff was rude. The check in process was really complicated and weird. I had to talk to a man through zoom on a vending machine with a computer screen to get my key. They lied about the pet policy. The rooms were discusting! Brown water came out of the shower. Holes in wall, tv not set up, rust spots on floor, hair left in shower and in sink, very sketchy neighborhood did not feel safe. They even kept part of my deposit, however I left the room after 20 minutes as it was too gross and sketchy and ended up sleeping in my car for the night.

Rundown but conveniently located near...

Liked: Room was a quick walk behind old town Eureka, with lots of beautiful Victorian architecture, shops, street art and walks along the riverside. Free parking under the building, protected from the elements. There is a cute divey-looking bar next door, attached to the building. We didn't stop in but it's there.
Disliked: Lots. While the space got the job done, the room smelled of mildew and shower cleaners, the room was dark and the only window faced inward. The TV didn't work. It's an old historic building but doesn't appear to have been cared for beyond what is necessary. Not the greatest location, but it was near old town for some fun walking. But the biggest issue for me was the new check-in system. I walked in the door, a human opened it, welcomed me, and then pointed to a machine that then connected to a man who knows where in the world. He/it then took me through the process from top to bottom, scanned my ID, took my CC payment and even dispensed a receipt and two keycards. It was slow and unnecessary as there was a man at the front counter. I get why they tried it out and in a larger facility with many of these, it could be really useful, but felt so impersonal and unnecessary in a small intimate location.
