Liked: The hotel is a beautiful old building, the grounds are lovely and the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely but a bit disorganised.

Top-notch hotel = top-notch break

Liked: Amazing place - beautiful building & grounds, excellent staff, great swimming pool, and food was spot on.
Disliked: It was hot - a fan in the room or a window that opened wider than 6" would have helped.

Beautiful place

Liked: I really liked the grounds, it was very pleasant to walk around. The library was lovely, and the food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The rooms were spacious and bright.
Disliked: It wasn’t exactly a big issue, but the air conditioning on the second floor where the bedroom was didn’t work well, and it was very hot at night.

Good hotel, quality service, fantastic...

Liked: A class hotel, the facilities were good, the food was fresh and the staff were welcoming and polite.
Disliked: Unfortunately the hotel could just do with a little more modernising

Liked: The staff were amazing and so very helpful, made our stay a very memorable one! We loved our stay here and would have liked to stay for longer if time permitted. Amazing, welcoming service throughout our time.....felt very comfortable and welcomed. Would thoroughly recommend!!

Relaxing, thoughtful touches and outstanding...

Liked: I visited the hotel for a couple of days to treat myself for my birthday and it was everything I had hoped for and more. From the moment I arrived, the team made me feel incredibly welcome and taken care of. I was travelling solo and wanted to relax and enjoy some peaceful time for myself and this place delivered that beautifully. I was welcomed with a lovely birthday treat in my room along with a handwritten card from the team, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch.Special shout-out to Matt at the bar: he truly went above and beyond and made my stay even more memorable. His amazing & attentive service and his friendly & warm personality made the whole experience extra special.The whole front-of-house staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and nice. I left feeling relaxed, happy, and genuinely grateful for the care and kindness I received throughout my stay. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to anybody too!
Disliked: The only small downside for me was the bed setup, it was two single beds pushed together, which is probably great for couples, but as I was staying alone, I found myself drifting into the middle and feeling a bit like I was in between two beds. It wasn’t the most comfortable for solo sleeping, but I imagine it would be absolutely fine for two people sharing.
