Short group stay
Liked: Great location and we enjoyed the inclusive breakfast.
Disliked: We were on the ground floor so it can be quite noisy and unfortunately for us there was construction work happening throughout the day close by. The carpets were dirty and damp and one of the bathroom lights didn’t work. We were also locked outside our apartment one of the evenings as the keypad battery died, thankfully a staff member arrived shortly after and sorted it out for us.

Fantastic location, great rooms and...
Liked: We stayed 2 nights at Ethos and got two interconnected rooms as a family of 4. We originally booked the apartment, but the hotel called to let me know that this was undergoing some refurbishment and would we be ok with the interconnected rooms. Of course this was fine and in fact, I suspect we ended up with an upgrade as the rooms were beautiful. We had our dog with us and staff were really kind about everything. The area is beautiful, very chilled out yet really close walking distance from the centre of Oxford, some lovely pubs and cafes and the green belt. Breakfast was included and really nice, the rooms also had a very comprehensive selection of tea and coffee, fridges and even a microwave oven.I would definitely stay at Ethos again and recommend it for a family visiting the city. Thanks so much, Ethos Hotel, you made our stay special.
Disliked: Only a minor negative point to mention, the AC seemed to be on a program so it went on by itself at 7 am. I'm not a fan of AC for health reasons, so having to jump out of bed to manually switch it off wasn't the best, but we were getting up not too soon after anyway.

Liked: Great location. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Good price for the area.
Disliked: Not sure about the rest of the hotel but our building was very run down. Definitely not a 4 star more like a 2 star. The carpets were thin and old, the bathroom was gross. There was what I assumed was other guests open old food left in the cupboard. Curtains hanging off.

Has potential to be much...
Liked: I liked the location and that it was clean. The breakfast was good too.
Disliked: The damage to the door in our room the curtains not hung properly no air con and window would not stay open. The shock that they wanted to charge for parking £29 which after a bit of a battle it was not charged. The member of staff on arrival was rude and would not let us talk to the Manager regarding parking situation.

DIsaster.
Disliked: I was travelling with my daughter and her two children. I had booked an apartment with two bedrooms, living room and kitchenette facilities including a dishwasher and hotplate, and had pre-registered as requested by the property. We arrived about 6 pm, the children (age 6 and 3) were tired. We carried our bags up three flights, to find there was someone else in the apartment. A not very apologetic receptionist/barmaid told us the manager had switched off her phone and there was nothing else available except a room with two double beds and a sofa and bathroom. It was too late to get another cab and try to find somewhere else with the children. We could not cook the food we had brought for our and the children's supper. The next morning the manager apologised and said we would be refunded in full. Fortunately we had managed to book rooms in a hotel but we incurred extra expense because we had to eat out (instead of having an apartment) and it was not what we had wanted.
