Ethan Allen Hotel

Great location, but would not...

Liked: We visited Ethan Allen for the second time because the location is very handy.
Disliked: In our reservation form I'd asked for a quiet room and was unfortunately first put in a room that had noise next door. When we asked to move we were told there were a limited number of rooms due to renovation in one section and a party in the lobby which was going to get noisy. It would have been nice if the hotel had warned us these factors when I submitted my request for a quiet room with the reservation and allowed me to cancel rather than put us in a situation where we had to choose from a very limited number of alternatives. In addition, the lighting in the room is woefully inadequate and made it difficult to read in bed.

Disliked: Nothing

The 25 year old TV...

Liked: The bed was comfortable and the room clean
Disliked: The TV was 25 years old and we had nothing but problems with it Because of our schedule we were there from 7 PM so the TV was important and it was so old and incredibly poor.

Passable

Liked: It would be nice to get deposit back as quick as they took it
Disliked: Deposit refund..Holiday express gives it back in 48 hrs

Overall, it was a nice...

Liked: The bed was comfortable, and the rooms were clean
Disliked: The pillows could have been less hard, and the hallway carpets could be cleaner or replaced.

Ok for a night

Liked: Location, last stop on a long trip, 5 hours from home.
Disliked: Disappointed in the lack of staff at the desk, I spent close to an hour waiting numerous times to get settled into a room. First room, the deadbolt did not lock, let’s face it, staying in a hotel you want to be able to lock the door. Carried all my stuff back down the stairs to get another room, desk clerk was more talkative than helpful. Got a second room, tried to settle in but couldn’t read the desk clerk’s hand writing for the password, back again to the desk. Not to mention, I was the third person having problems with room accommodations. Also not sure why hotel equipment needs to be so loud that it drowns out the tv, loud motor noise in the hallway. TV channel selections are minimal, the room showed a lot of wear tear. I would think with the name, Ethan Allen, they would want the hotel to look its best.

Liked: EVERYTHING WAS GOOD, BEAUTIFUL BUT THE FOOD FOR BREAKFAST WAS COLD. WORK ON THAT
Disliked: BREAKFAST COLD

Beautiful but unfriendly

Liked: We stayed after a wedding. Staff seemed annoyed we were checking in and the bar closed early, as if they did it as soon as we walked in. We did not feel welcome.
