Unique Boutique Hotel

Liked: The staff was marvelous! Joe in reception gave us a warm greeting, explained everything, and pointed out things to see around the old town. We arrived early but were able to get in the room. The room was a bit small and very basic, almost stark, due to its age and simple style of furniture. (That was part of the charm). However, the room and bathroom were clean, the beds and pillows were quite comfortable, and the amenities in the room were enjoyable. Several types of teas and coffees were offered in the room, which was a welcome treat. Our room was quiet, and we had a view of the old city wall right outside the window. Breakfast was great, with several made-to-order selections ( not a buffet). We ate dinner at the Ennio’s restaurant that evening and the food was delicious! The location of the hotel was excellent. We ended up taking a taxi to the cruise terminal because it was raining. It is walkable, but a bit too long with luggage.
Disliked: The service for dinner at the restaurant was rather inattentive. We waited a long time to place a dessert order and finally gave up after about 25 minutes with not a single waiter stopping by. Otherwise, everything else about our stay was fine.

Superb

Liked: It's more a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel with a restaurant - but all the better for that. The food was superb. Staff were engaging and enthusiastic.
