English Bay Hotel

Really, given the price, this place is a gem. It's spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet (even right on the street!). I mean, it's certainly no Ritz, but for $120 (for 2 adults and 2 kids) you aren't going to find a better deal. Would absolutely stay there again. Very impressed!

Near beach location!

Liked: The location! It’s right across from the beach area. There are lots of food places, grocery stores in the surrounding area.
Disliked: The rooms are pretty dated and well used. But the beds were comfy and we had a great view out to the water. Plus we had a kitchen.

Spend a bit more money...

Disliked: The only place I’ve ever stayed where I wanted to check out before even checking in , we left luggage in the luggage room were live rat and mice traps , didn’t fill me with confidence. The lift is full of little flies dead on the wall , the sound of running water and sewage smell . The room dated and the noise from the fridge running all night is enough to drive you mad . The whole place left you feeling dirty and itchy , we slept in our clothes and wouldn’t walk bare foot on the carpet . The kind of place where you are on edge looking for vermin , cockroaches in your room.Couldn’t get out of there quick enough . It was non refundable and it cost abour $400 for two nights .

Exceptional

Liked: I was impressed with this hotel. It does look kind of old fashioned inside but it was great value for money and it had everything we needed and more. We had the junior suite, it, was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff (front desk (day and night) and cleaner) were really helpful and friendly. We had to extend our stay and they accommodated us in the same room. Lots of food outlets on the same road and the English Bay beach too. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Liked: Loved the location. Wished our room's view of the ocean wasn't covered by the tree outside- but overall perfect location. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spacious.
Disliked: Didn't feel very clean.

Decent stay at a decent...

Liked: Nice staff.Staff works hard to clean the space which is evident from the smell of cleaning chemicals. But they can only do so much.
Disliked: Rugs have seen too much! Rooms are old.
