The Spotlight on Empire Suites

Stylish Comfort in the Heart of Montreal’s Entertainment District

Modern and inviting, Empire Suites sits in the vibrant Quartier des Spectacles, just a short walk from many of Montreal’s major music venues. Whether you're in town for a bucket-list concert or a weekend music festival, this hotel blends comfort, convenience, and affordability. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, coffee machines, and air conditioning, while the property offers free WiFi and 24-hour front desk service.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key, and Empire Suites doesn’t disappoint—just 0.6 miles from Place des Arts and within easy reach of other downtown venues. After the show, it’s a quick and safe walk back to your room. The hotel’s 24-hour front desk and private paid parking make arriving late or leaving early a breeze. Rooms are quiet enough for post-concert wind-downs, and with check-in starting at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, there’s time to rest after a late-night encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central base
  • Solo travelers catching a dream show
  • Couples planning a music-filled weekend
  • Fans who need a peaceful post-show crash pad
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers wanting value and location

Food and Drink Options

The hotel features an on-site restaurant where guests can grab breakfast after a late night. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the area is packed with walkable eateries, from quick bites to sit-down spots that stay open late. Bring your appetite—Montreal’s food scene is as exciting as its music.

Nightlife Options

Staying in the Quartier des Spectacles means you're surrounded by bars, lounges, and music clubs. While the hotel itself doesn’t offer live music, you’ll find plenty of local spots nearby pouring craft cocktails and playing everything from jazz to indie rock. Ideal for pre-show drinks or a nightcap.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, clean rooms, and helpful staff. Many mention how easy it is to get to venues on foot and appreciate the value for money. Reviews also highlight the comfortable beds and overall quiet atmosphere—perfect for recharging after a long night.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor is a bit dated in places, and while the WiFi is free, the signal can occasionally be spotty. The on-site parking is limited and paid, so plan ahead if you're driving in. Still, most agree these are minor trade-offs for the price and location.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Montreal for a concert, Empire Suites delivers a solid mix of comfort, convenience, and affordability—just steps from the action.

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Good stay. Somethings could have...

Liked: The property is within a 5 min walk to Barri Uqum subway station. I felt very safe travelling with my two young boys in this area. We took the subway everywhere until late in the evening and I never once felt uneasy. Our room was big enough, clean , bathroom was beautiful and bed was comfortable. All in all we had a great stay but for comments sake I did post some dislikes.
Disliked: There is only one elevator in the hotel. Always a big line. Normally I’d take the stairs but breakfast is on the first floor and our room was on the 7th. It’s two hotels in one. Lelux and empire suites. It’s very confusing. The front desk staff weren’t very helpful. I had to ask 4 times after calling twice for bedding for the pull out couch. I called down for extra shampoo and towels and they never arrived either even after I sent my sons down to the desk to get it. The vending machines both don’t work on site so stop and get snacks before you get to hotel. The lobby is dark and “modern” I guess. Even in the middle of the day it was dark and gloomy. Tv in the room didn’t really work. Cable coming in was very staticky and it was only a 24” tv mounted on a giant wall. But we weren’t here to watch much tv but watching local news in the evening would have been nice. Breakfast was good except the poor workers were run off their feet. There didn’t seem to be any policing. People taking 5-8 croissants that were just put out and hoarding them on their tables. Same with pancakes. There was never enough at any time. Always waiting. But when you did get your food it was good. Not enough cutlery ever. And it was a weird system, for dirty dishes. Just leave them on your table or on a large island. Just mountains of paper plates and cups and real cutlery. I have to say that’s a first.

Peaceful night, chaotic breakfast, rude-ish...

Liked: Decent rooms. Pretty quiet.
Disliked: The person who checked us in was indifferent- not out rightly rude but also not pleasant.Parking overnight rate is ~$60. Like getting a room for your car, jeez!Breakfast was chaos. One person managing hundreds of people- no milk, just pancakes, black coffee and toast. No protein either.

A terrible experience.

Liked: anything
Disliked: Really bad experience. We stayed for 2 days. On the first night, there were four of us, but the second bed was a broken, very uncomfortable sofa bed with damaged springs. There were no sheets or pillows. We went to the reception to ask for them, but they told us it was too late (it was 8:00 PM) and that the staff had already left. They gave us torn sheets and said someone would fix everything the next morning. The next day, we went out, and when we came back, no one had been to the room. Once again, they told us it was too late (this time it was 7:00 PM) to get clean sheets. The day after that, we just left.
