A lovely few days

Liked: Everything was just perfect. This was my first solo trip and I was more than a little apprehensive. But the Staff were so friendly and put me at ease - I most definitely will go back again. I loved the atmosphere in the Hotel; the decor and the ability to use the pool . Breakfast was also just what was needed. One of the reasons I choose to stay here was that it was in quite a central location and there was lots to see in the surrounding area. Well done to all at Embleton. Thank you for a lovely few days.

The room was very comfy...

Liked: Enjoyed a nice evening meal in the restaurant and a good full English breakfast the following morning.Thought the complimentary coffee and cake on arrival were a nice touch. Sadly, forgot to bring swimming gear so didn’t use the swimming pool.
Disliked: Would have preferred not to have to climb so many stairs. However the charming young man who showed us to our room did carry one of our bags.

This is not a Spa...

Liked: Cameron was very helpful. The location had great views and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed.
Disliked: The Embleton Spa Hotel is not a Spa hotel. A sauna under repair is not a Spa. The company that runs the swimming pool is totally independent from the hotel, as is the gym and hot tub. No life guard or attendant. The switching on instructions for the tub made it dangerous and totally not what is expected from a Spa Hotel.The company "Changes" running the pool and gym without adequate safety supervision are just asking for trouble. The advertising around the pool screams members, members, private hire. I have stayed in many Spa hotels to wind down by the pool, catch a sauna or steam room, sign into the gym and do a simple workout.I have never felt so unwelcome in my entire life and will not be recommending this hotel on any level.
