I liked my stay overall,...
Liked: The bed was awesome. I laid down and all I remember is waking up. Breakfast, well I saw people with omelet's, couldn't find where they had gotten them. I wanted to ask but it was too early. Breakfast was nicer, lots of choices. I was given complimentary wine, but I don't drink. The supervisor that checked me in was very sweet. She gave me a cookie.
Disliked: For an Embassy Suites I expected more decoration. This one had hospital like plain beige everywhere??? Yuck. Cafeteria smell in the halls. All the room doors face each other it gave me the creeps with all the craziness lately. The hall rails had no guards all the way up with the little ones running up and down, I kept wanting to grab them away from the rails. My room, I guess because I booked on Booking.com they must rent you the cheesy messed up rooms. I asked for the top floor but was told no because they were all rented. I think that was an untruth because I gazed into a good ten empty rooms on top floors all night. It felt like maybe certain races or groups of people were placed on certain floors to me. I personally hate floor six in any building. That was my floor. I felt unsafe all night. The room had very dated decorations, nice but everything seemed to need a scrape off of caked on sticky dust that accumulates on furnishings over long periods of time. Or maybe a coat of paint. Multiple things were broken, the lamp shades, the microwave had a missing foot and wobbled. The lamps were all unplugged. Then the maid left a wrinkled-up envelope for a tip with her name on it, I wrote one. Just not the Embassy style I am used to. A tip in my view is earned, it's not part of the deal if the service was not exceptional. I do not tip when you did what you had to do to stay employed. And I hate it when a person asks for a tip, or places pressure for one. :(
