Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort

We book with Embassy because we like Embassy, however I can only give 3 out of 5 stars this time.

Liked: Overall nice room; breakfast was good.
Disliked: What made this stay a disappointment was the fact that we had no heat in our room for two days; we drove three hours to get there and checked in around 4:30pm, rested for a while and left an hour after checking in to see a show. When we returned to our room the room was cold, but it was late and we were tired, so we turned the heat up higher and went to bed; however, when we got up, late the next day, my wife was complaining that the room was cold, that's when I turned the heat up to 80 degrees but the room never got warmer than 69 degrees, that's when I realized the heat wasn't really working.... To make a long story short, we complained about the heat twice, twice the maintenance guy came and opened the wall panel where the heater is at and said the motor was sticking, shortly thereafter the heater stopped working again; after complaining a third time that there's no heat in the room the person at the front desk said there's really nothing else she could do. So the expectation was that since it was our last night we would just have to stay in a cold room even though the hotel was nearly empty, it eventually took the night manager to show up and move us to a different room.

Liked: The stay was ok
Disliked: The room was not properly cleaned. The bathroom in the hotel room smelt like urine the room smelled like mildew. The room was some times hot.

Disliked: First they cancelled our ocean front room without notifying us. We were about to arrive and called to notify them that we were going to check in late and they told us our room was cancelled months ago AND they were sold out for the night! Our room was very outdated. Inside the bathroom paint was coming off the tub in big chips as well as the light fixture inside the shower. Not good at all and I dont think it’s safe with paint chips. My tub was stopped up to the point that when my family took a shower the water filled up like you were taking a bath!

If it was not for...

Liked: The staff had amazing customer service. Breakfast was great. Distance to the pool and beach was less than a little skip.
Disliked: The air conditioning unit was malfunctioning. It was unable to cool the room fully. Staff had the room set to 60 but it would not drop down from 72 degrees with a 103 degrees index out side.Next, the door panel to our room stop working and we had to wait almost 30 minutes to have maintenance fix the issue.The sliding door for the suite was jammed as well, which defeated the person of having the ocean view.

Liked: Very clean, and comfortable rooms, beautiful short walk to water parks attached to pool, and the beach all within 100ft of each other. My view from the 17th floor balcony was great, and king bed room with 2 TVs was awesome. I was gifted a free breakfast upon check in. Parking was easy.
Disliked: My shower drain needed fixing, it was very clogged, I booked the room for 2 nights somehow only got 1 and it’s been the biggest inconvenience and headache trying to figure out, the staff is exactly patient and the hotel is “packed indefinitely” “no availability” on a random Thursday and Friday in the middle of July. I get it, nothing they can do about the reservation count, but this place has 20 floors, 1 night “extension” for a night that I should’ve already had shouldn’t be as hard as it has been.
