Fabulous location and great staff

Liked: The hotel is in a fantastic location right by the river. Lovely outside space overlooking the river for drinks breakfast lunch or dinner. The staff were amazing friendly and attentive. Made our dog very welcome. Would definitely recommend it.
Disliked: The bathrooms although spotless were outdated. Need a freshen up. The chairs in the main bar were all worn out. Shame they just need partly reupholstering. It didn’t stop us enjoying our stay.

Liked: Accommodation and staff good , I'm celiac i had a aubergine salad that was terrible had no taste cost me £23 with 3 oz fillet certainly not worth the money, very disappointed as I hadn't eaten all day..

Disliked: Pokey room overlooking the car park drinks over priced.service slow breakfast terrible had to pay extra for tea coffee and fruit juice I had fruit juice one sausage one piece of bacon about two inches square one egg one hash brown and beans come to over fifteen pounds disgusting

A great place to stay,...

Liked: We booked 3 rooms; the one I stayed in with my husband was lovely. Well equipped, spacious and comfortable and as it was a very warm evening we were glad the time had been taken to open windows and put the fan on so that when we arrived the room was a comfortable temperature.
Disliked: The other two rooms we booked were for our son and daughter and their partners. On meeting them the next day they both said that although the rooms were good, they had hardly any water coming through the shower in the morning and were disappointed that the breakfast was quite expensive.My daughter, who is pregnant, was with her partner and 2 year old son in a family room. We were surprised that this was up several flights of stairs which was difficult for them to navigate with a small child and luggage. Given the amount of 'stuff' young families need we were surprised that the family room was not more easily accessible. If they had the pushchair with them access would have been even harder. This room was also at the front of the hotel, which meant it was noisy given that customers of the pub below were in the outside seating area until closing time. As it was a very warm evening they would like to have had the windows open but kept them shut so that their son wasn't disturbed.
