Liked: Location was perfect.
Disliked: Overall appearance on arriving is disapointing. Dirty steps leading up to the entrance. Front facing bedroom windows have horrible white curtains. Inside the carpets are torn. Everything inside needs updating. Our room had mis-matched furniture. One drawer front held together by screws through the front of the drawer. Stains on skirting boards that nobody had bothered to clean up. Bathroom had a vent in the middle of the floor that filled with the water from the tiny bath. Shower head was dangling from a hole in the ceiling. Bathroom sink had no plug. Toilet seat was loose. Tea and coffee making facility had only enough for one brew (no one on reception to ask for more). Told on check-in that breakfast was continental only. Booked for 3 nights, but we left the following morning. Disgusting place.

Liked: Breakfast was better than anticipated. The room was a good size although a better choice of pillows would have helped.
Disliked: The garden outside the hotel needs to be tidied up and the frontage could do with a fresh coat of paint and generally tidying up.Although there is evidence of the hotel being upgraded it looks tired. The stair carpet was worn, the stairwell walls need a fresh coat of paint and all room doors need to have the same card entry system, not a mix of traditional keys and card keys.

Liked: This is the 3rd year we have stayed in this hotel.It looks like a lot of work has been done since last year. The 3 rooms we booked at front of hotel were lovely.
Disliked: The whole hotel haaway and stairs needs new carpets.

Great location, value for money..

Liked: Have stayed at the Elsinore many times with my husband, this occasion was solo travelling so chose again as felt safe there. Staff always friendly and helpful. Happy for you to leave luggage before check in and after if needed.Its a cheap & cheerful base, if you are out exploring all day anyway.
Disliked: Stayed in room 303 which was up 3 double flights of stairs ( no lifts available) so this could be tiring after a lot of coastal walking!.. there is no mirror in this room ( only in bathroom) which is obviously no good if you need to plug in hairdryer or straighteners..as leads would not reach anyway.
