Disliked: It was disappointing. Breakfast was average, the room wasn't cleaned (stayed 2 nights) and it was noisy at night with people being loud in rooms around us until midnight.

Exceptional in every way

Liked: Exceptional decor, comfort and value for money. I loved everything about this hotel. The lounge , reception and bar have stunning art nouveau stained glass, fittings and decor. The bedroom decor was also gorgeous. There was superb attention to detail even down to the coving and pelmets. The bed was a very sumptuous super-king and the bathroom was also excellent. The tiles continued the peacock theme in the hotel, the bathroom fittings were excellent quality and the shower was powerful. All the staff were genuinely friendly, (especially Nadia) the cooked breakfast was excellent and included in the very reasonable price and the bar very cosy and comfortable. There's even an accessible room/bathroom and EV charging points. The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the centre of York. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.
