Liked: Comfy room (303) and bed.Decor and artwork.Twenty minute walk into the centre of York.
Disliked: No porters (offered) to carry suit cases upstairs into room. (No elevator due to historic building).Took too long for breakfast order to be taken in restaurant, despite (at tim of entry only two other couples being present

Great hotel with lots of...

Liked: Such a pleasant change from the usual bland modern chain hotel. The room was fantastic, great decor. Loved the bathroom. The bar being open after dinner out was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.
Disliked: Not quite in the centre but only a couple of stops away on the regular buses. In fact that could be a bonus as York is very busy with tourists!

Lovely hotel a short walk...

Liked: Good location, short walk to the city centre but far enough out not to be too loud. The room was superb with a large bed and high ceilings and a large well equipped bathroom.

Comfortable hotel in a lovely...

Liked: The hotel is based in a lovely old building with bags of character, and has been renovated to a high standard. The room we were in was modern with a large bed and really nice bathroom. The aircon was very welcome given the 30C heat outside! The shared areas, such as reception, the bar and restaurant are very nice.
Disliked: The only aspect which let things down a bit was the lack of experienced bar and breakfast staff. It just felt like the place was operating on minimal and inexperienced staffing numbers.
