Beautiful space, but far from...
Liked: The design and general ambiance of the hotel were visually appealing, and the location was very convenient. The dinner and lunch options at the restaurant were actually quite good in terms of taste and presentation, although pricing was another matter.
Disliked: Breakfast was the biggest disappointment, far from the level expected at a five-star hotel. The pastries were not fresh, the buffet only included a small range of cold starters and didn’t extend to main dishes, and even those few options were quite limited. The fruit salad was clearly not fresh, and the “freshly squeezed” orange juice tasted like it came from a carton more than once.The restaurant menu was overpriced for what it offered. A regular dinner for two with starters and mains easily came to £130, which felt unjustified. The late-night menu was especially poor, just a couple of uninspired sandwiches that were no better than something you'd find in a Tesco.In the room, minibar service was inconsistent. One day the water wasn’t refilled at all, and the “cookies” provided looked crushed and old, completely unappetising.We also had a sudden hot water outage one morning that affected the entire hotel. While the team offered us access to the spa showers, we had to wait several hours for the issue to be resolved.

Liked: The facilities were brilliant; the location even better. All of the staff were really well trained and attentive. If tranquility could be bottled, they would name it Ellenborough Park.
Disliked: There was nothing not to like.
