Eliza House

Very good

Liked: Spacious and clean room. The location is not bad either.
Disliked: Very noisy from early in the morning-at least our room facing the street-.The coffee machine was out of order during our stay so it would better not to include complimentary coffee in the welcoming message

Lovely place, shame about the...

Liked: Comfy bed, close to the city, bars and restaurants nearby
Disliked: No hot water from the shower

Not charming as the pictures...

Liked: The staff was amazing! We arrived after midnight and the man who was on the desk was great. Incredibly efficient and helpful. We had an issue with our flights for the next day and he was very helpful to me even thought it was 2am! This young man was truly the best part of the experience.
Disliked: The place is much older than expected. It is in great need of a refurbishment. Our room was kind of interesting in that the ceilings were incredibly high. However, it was also incredibly stuffy, and the dark wallpaper made it feel super dark and eerie. Our room is not featured in any of the pictures. There were 3 plugin heaters about the room, but no fan. This was July and we needed a fan. The only way to adjust the room temperature was by opening the window. The only room window sits behind two dressing tables. One table had mirrors on top and the other held the TV. We couldn't reach over it all to open the window. So, it was hot! It was also smelly - an old, stuffy smell. The shower is super tiny. If you are a larger person, I don't think you will fit. The hall in front of our room had random things left in it - one thing looked like gym equipment. Very strange. This could be a great place, but management needs to come in and clean up a bit and put in some refurbishments.

Nice stay

Liked: The room was decorated very nicely and it was very clean. Staff were very nice and welcoming. There wasn’t a full breakfast but there was water bottles, packaged pastries, bars, and a coffee station which was nice. Central attractions were about 15-25min walk and there’s plenty of transport as well.
Disliked: Creaky floors and lots of stairs if not on the ground floor

A Peaceful location to lay...

Liked: It is right by the bus line from/to the EDI airport. We had a hike to town which we knew and planned for. I like the location. We were grateful for the help getting a suitcase upstairs. I was pleased we chose Eliza house.
Disliked: Mostly structural, squeaky floors, no fan in the bathroom. Remember, this building is probably 150 yrs old.

Happy to recommend Eliza House.

Liked: We just needed an overnight stay and it ticked the boxes perfectly. Quaint and comfortable and very pretty.

Liked: They were really nice with our dog! And the rooms had personality while being very clean at á reasonable price, the area was great and very quiet at night even though it was central.
