We'll be hesitant to book...

Liked: Nice location, nice room (although the bathroom needed an upgrade).
Disliked: We stayed here for two nights, on 5-7 April 2024. The King Room with a balcony was not bad, but that bathroom had seen better days, with worn and stained tiles. And worse, we found a used beer bottle filled with cigarette butts on the balcony, which was a little disgusting. But the point of our trip to Gothenburg was to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. So I had (secretly) ordered and paid about 800 SEK for the surprise «birthday package». You know, balloons on the door, fruit, candy and a bottle of Cava placed in our room. On arrival, none of this was to be seen. This was a major disappointment (to me), and I vented this to the concierge (without my girlfriend hearing) on our way out to park the car. She apologized and promised that it would be in place before we came back from parking, estimated to 15 minutes. Back at the hotel some 20 minutes later, we found a hotel staff taping balloons to our room door and the surprise package was on a trolley in plain view. We waited for ten minutes in a sofa by the elevator for them to finish, but by then, the surprise was long gone. The hotel and location is nice and the room was ok (except from the beer bottle with cigarett butts), but the service and cleaning not. The beer bottle was removed by an apologizing staff and we did drink the Cava, but I don't feel I got my money's worth with the birthday package.
