A little Paradise near Avebury
Liked: Ben and Cody were great hosts and a lovely family with their little livewire 5 year old daughter Matilda and their lovely dog Maia. We could not have asked for better hosts and such genuine people. They made us feel like family and at home. The room was lovely with a nice patio where we could sit out. Lovely and quiet. A nice family run pub in a small village and excellent meals and breakfast was lovely, freshly squeezed orange juice and apple juice.
Disliked: A little higgledy piggledy but they are pretty new so this is slowly getting sorted but Ben and Cody deserve the support.

Exceptional, with hosts prepared to...
Liked: We had a downstairs room. It was a large room with a good en-suite which included a wet room shower. There were doors opening onto a patio, which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use, but would be lovely to sit out on with a drink in hand. Plenty of parking space. What really makes this place special though is the couple that run it and the breakfast. The couple were welcoming, friendly and prepared to go that extra step to make your stay with them special - a pot of tea (no charge) brought to me when we returned in the evening from a family do - a paper bag with a couple of bottles of water and some fruit for our onward journey when we checked out. (Never had that before, but it was a lovely touch and really appreciated). As for the breakfast….. a menu choice to complete the night before that covered virtually anything you might want (except fish). The portions were generous and the food was good. If we needed to stay in this area again, we would definitely stay here. Nearby family have already taken the details to use for friends in the future if needed. As the rooms are attached to the pub, there is access to the bar and they apparently open the small restaurant on certain nights for an evening meal.
Disliked: Trying to think! Turning right onto the main road?

Elderbrook house is perfectly located...
Liked: Cody and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. We loved our garden view room with private access to the patio, and the pot of tea brought to us to have in the garden was so lovely. The beds were really comfy, and breakfast exceptional.
Disliked: There’s nothing to not like, though it is a work in progress and rustic, but this was something we personally liked about it.

Liked: The perfect accommodation if you're riding the King Alfred's Way. The friendliest of hosts, who couldn't have done more to look after us, storing our bikes securely and sending us on our way with a (massive) included breakfast followed by a 'goody' bag of snacks. Highly recommend, I'll definitely be back!

A peaceful and pleasant stay
Liked: The room was very comfortable. The patio had a beautiful view of the pond and trees. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The bus stop was about ten minutes walk down a pretty country lane.
Disliked: It didn't bother me but I can see how a car would be useful for exploring the area.
