Relaxing.

Liked: It was super relaxing and we met great people to chat with near the pools and during the sweet little breakfast out by the pool. Really a unique experience.

A fun stay at a...

Liked: The hot springs pool was fabulous. I enjoyed the Moroccan theme, to which they really dedicated themselves in recreating. The French press coffee in the morning was a nice touch. We had a room on the second floor (room 204), which we liked because it was at the end of the balcony is a very private alcove with a table and chairs outside which we greatly enjoyed.
Disliked: Overall, I feel this hotel was once much better. It is in need of repairs. For breakfast, you make choices from a limited menu, which is then left in a paper bag for you in the fridge. Basically you can choose a bagel or cinnamon roll, yogurt, hard boiled egg, and then various toppings for the bagel such as tomatoes, avocado, butter, or jelly. Same thing every day. This feels like something that was instituted during the covid years and they decided to stick with it for convenience to them and to reduce costs. While I appreciate an included breakfast, I did not consider this a good value. And it is not available until after 9:00 which is difficult when you are near Joshua Tree National Park and other attractions and want to get an early start. A nice breakfast is always a nice part of a boutique hotel stay and this is lacking here. The staff is only there from 9:00 - 5:00 so that actually made check-out a hassle, too, since we wanted to leave before 9 but had to delay so that the staff could see credit card and ID. Although I had already been charged prior to arrival. Overall the stay was mostly enjoyable but the cost is too high for what we experienced. In conclusion, it was a fun experience and I would still recommend to others for the pool and uniqueness, but this is just an honest review of the things that I think could be improved for guest convenience and enjoyment.

Liked: The owner greeted us with such joy and friendliness we felt instantly at home. The room was clean and comfortable; it is an older hotel and the historic vibe is right up our alley. The room looked right out into the courtyard and all the amenities were close and convenient. They had some trouble with storms the weekend before but all was cleaned up and the grounds were great. Quite the oasis in the desert. It was very close to Joshua Tree National Park, which was our main reason for staying at this hotel so we were very happy about that location. We needed an early start so the owner packed us a to go breakfast so we could leave in the wee hours. It was not hot when we stayed there so we have no opinion on how well the AC worked. The cool, fresh air was enough.

Passable

Liked: It was quiet and clean.
Disliked: We had an issue with the room key which didn’t fit the door lock. The room was too dark and the bathroom is too small.
