Exceptional

Liked: John is super hospitable. Making sure there are enough supplies for breaky. Home made plum jam, was the winner. Walking distance into Salamanca, with all the pubs and restaurants. Free parking, clean and comfortable. It's old and quirky but we loved it
Disliked: The shower is a little hard to regulate the temperature.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay

Liked: John is a great host. Very helpful about local places to visit.Hotel location is perfect if you want to walk into Hobart.Really generous self-service breakfast and snacks.
Disliked: Some of the decor is a little tired, but the rest of our experience meant that we were delighted with our stay, overall.

Liked: good stocked kitchen (did only use the milk)parking on siteclean
Disliked: room next to road with lot noise from it radiating to room even in early hours - difficult to sleepdid feel stuffy in room no air con only fan - cant open window (although i doubt you want to if can due to traffic noise)but did stay only for one night

Disliked: We were there 4 nights so cleaning of the room at once during our stay would have been good.

Disliked: Would have preferred a duvet rather than blankets

Good value for the money.

Liked: Walk to the city easily. The building is quaint. The facilities are clean and the owner is helpful. The breakfast looked good but I had my own.
Disliked: The staircase and lugging a bag upstairs to the room. I'm unsure if the window opened although I didn't need fresh air.

Our stay was short but...

Liked: The location was great with off street parking a bonus. The host John was very pleasant and visible during our stay.
Disliked: My queen bed was hard to sleep comfortably on as it sloped from left to right. The high heavy curtains were hard to close at night.
