Why Concert-goers love it

You’re within walking distance of iconic venues and Edinburgh’s buzzing nightlife, from Cowgate to George Street. The hotel’s central location means you can stroll back after a late show without needing a taxi. Inside, the vibe is relaxed and welcoming—perfect for winding down after a high-energy night. Plus, dozens of eateries are just a short walk away.

Nightlife Options

With Cowgate and George Street nightlife less than a mile away, you’ve got countless bars, clubs, and live music venues at your fingertips. Back at the hotel, the refurbished café/bar is a chill spot to sip a local craft beer and swap setlist highlights with fellow fans.

What People Say

Guests love the clean, modern rooms and the friendly, helpful staff. The location gets high marks for being close to everything but still quiet enough for a restful night. Many mention the value for money, especially with food and drink options available on-site.

Areas for Improvement

Check-in time at 16:00 can feel a bit late if you’re arriving early to explore. Also, non-members of Hostelling Scotland pay a small nightly supplement—worth noting when budgeting, but not a deal-breaker.

The Bottom Line

Edinburgh Central Accommodation is a smart, social, and central choice for music lovers looking to stay close to the city’s buzzing concert and nightlife scene.

Amazing staff, great location, value...

Liked: The location is spot on, easy walking distance to everything. It is great value for money, clean, and comfortable. All the staff on reception are amazing, so friendly and helpfull and suggested places to eat, and where to visit. Breakfast is an additional cost, there are two options a Scottish fry up or more basic cereal and toast at a reasonable cost. The lobby area is welcoming with plenty of comfy seating, free wifi, a bar, a restaurant. lounge area with sofas and tables, and a small library and tourist . luggage storage and there is a kitchen area in hte basement if you want to prepare your own food. There is a also a guest laundry which was out of order when we visited. The hostel is centrally located, and is easy to go out sightseeing. Close by are supermarket express shops, bars, restaurants, take aways, Greggs is opposite and there is Wetherspoons 5 minutes away. All in all, great value for money. Highly recommended.
Disliked: If there is one thing, the separate shower room, whilst large had no shower curtain and water went everywhere. You had to hang clothes and towels up outside when showering, otherwise they got wet.

Liked: Location is good. A big public kitchen is good.
Disliked: It provides very basic services. It’s a bit noisy hearing noise from the street at night.

Very enjoyable stay.

Liked: Location of the hostel is very central, we got the the tram from the airport and there was stop very close to the hostel so that was really handy. Room was clean and comfortable be a bit basic was glad we booked an ensuite as that was nice to not have to share a bathroom. Walking to the central areas is also very easy, I would say probably 15mins up to the very central part of town. We also liked the shower room, thought it was designed very well with a nice powerful shower. And lastly was very appreciative that we could leave our luggage after checking out, which made our last day more enjoyable to explore.
Disliked: If I was being picky for the size of the family room they could of added more hooks to hang towels or jackets and breakfast there was okay. Not bad value, but probably not the best quality.
