Disppointed

Liked: The hotel emailed us to cancel the booking. when i phoned to query i was told it was being sold.
Disliked: Never got to find out what it was like

could be a great place...

Liked: The room was very nice with a view across the water. the ferry was regular and took you across to Plymouth and good restaurants at the old naval base, The Park and house next to the Pub is lovely and a must to look around.
Disliked: The Couple running the pub had a row the first night outside which woke us up and then were stomping around above our bedroom playing loud music til the early hours of the morning !! I did complain the next day and the next 2 nights were much better. Breakfast was average and the evening meal we had was overpriced and nothing special,

Liked: The property was closed and our stay cancelled??? So you can be assured we won’t be very positive about this booking.

Enjoyable

Liked: The view and the convenience of where we wanted to be.
Disliked: The staff member who was discussing a work problem with another member how she wasn’t happy and making it public knowledge we didn’t pay for that over breakfast.

A great place to visit...

Liked: The location is fantastic right on the river Tamar, room 1 was a very nice room with tea, coffee biscuit’s etc.The full Cornish breakfast was amazing, even though my poached egg was hard. 🥲
Disliked: The only little niggle was the evening menu was limited to burger, fish or scampi.I also noticed that the rooms booked direct was cheaper than through booking.com.

Very good

Liked: Breakfast very good.Location for foot ferry to Plymouth excellent.Lucky as weather was good, enjoyed our exploration of the Edgcumbe House gardens.
Disliked: Found the menu was limited for me, ended up with fish and chips, underside of battered fish was soft and slightly greasy.Due to location not much food competition, I understand the need to have a slightly limited menu but ie. no basic steaks etc.

Liked: Great position Supper wasn’t bad
Disliked: Management weirdly set themselves up on the only comfortable chairs by the fire and didn’t budge all evening Terrible loud Indie Rock music on an iPad loop which luckily was turned down when asked Booked into a back room over the bins and a request for a river view room went unheeded when I’m sure the place wasn’t full. Maybe the Landlord/Owner took precedence ?
