Nice place to stay in St. Albans!

Liked: The location is excellent, the room was comfortable, and the desk staff was great.
Disliked: We were getting ready to leave the room on our first morning, and as we were going out the door we could see that the housekeeping staff had just passed our room as we were still in there. It was just 9:00 am. They saw us and asked if we needed anything, like towels or the garbage taken out. We said no, just the bed made. When we came back that evening at 9:00 pm, the room was untouched, the bed unmade. Not cool -- there was plenty of time to get to our room after we left.

Not one to recommendunfortunately.

Liked: The room was cold & there was no heating. I had to ask the receptionist fir a heater. She gave us one from 2 centuries ago that stoped working after 10 seconds. Then she brought us a second that worked. She apologize for it but its not her responsibility to maintain the motel as it should.
Disliked: The closeness to the sea.

Liked: The person at the desk treated us like we were family. It was great and very friendly. I will be staying there again.

All in all, we loved our home-away-from-home in Saint Albans. A great owner and staff, for sure!

Liked: The continental breakfast was quite adequate, especially considering COVID times. There were bagels, English muffins, dry cereals, milk, coffee, tea, juices, butter, peanut butter, jams, cream cheese, pastries, etc. The rooms were all on ground level with parking right outside the doors. Saint Albans is a great locale - only half an hour to Burlington heading south, and about the same distance to the Canadian border heading north. There are great bike trails: the Colchester Causeway, the Burlington Waterfront and the Missisquoi one right in St. Albans are the three we particularly enjoyed. Up in Swanton there's a terrific wildlife preserve. The Champlain Islands are beautiful - we loved St. Anne's Shrine on Isle La Motte. There are many good restaurants right in Saint Albans, our favorite being Nourish. There's also a wonderful waterfront at St. Albans Bay, just a few miles from the Econo Lodge. We also looped into NYS a bit via Rouses Point, explored the Plattsburgh area, then took the year-round ferry (car and all) back to the Vermont side. Altogether a super location!
Disliked: Due to COVID, the room was - of course - thoroughly sanitized. We were therefore grateful to have a window that readily opened and let some fresh air in. That was very helpful, especially since easily-opened windows are all too rare in many other places.

Everything you need for a stay in St. Albans at the right price!

Liked: The bed was huge an super-comfortable, the whole place exceptionally clean, there was the choice of air conditioning or to open the window (I used both, at different times), there was a desk which I really need for work and meals, and the shower walls and sink were of a beautiful apricot-colored granite. Also, the staff are all really sweet people who had the advice I was needing for where to grab food and where the train was located. The Lodge is located less than a mile downtown; easy walk or straight on rt. 7 into an enchanting downtown complete with restaurants, grocery, shops and galkeries. Taylor park is beautiful; fountain, grassy hills, and musical performance space. The lobby of the motel has a really efficient breakfast with *excellent* Colombian coffee and breakfast treats, purified water and juices, and teas. It is a quiet, small establishment that meets all of the travelers needs in Saint Albans an the right price!

Great! We would highly recommend!

Liked: The room was clean and looked updated. The staff member was super friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was nice.
Disliked: There wasn't much to not like, but I would suggest a larger selection for the continental breakfast, but it was still much appreciated for a little morning snack and coffee.
