The Spotlight on Econo Lodge Midvale

Affordable Comfort Close to the Music Scene

Simple, no-frills, and budget-friendly, Econo Lodge Midvale is a clean and convenient spot in Midvale, just 12 miles from downtown Salt Lake City. Whether you're catching a show at The Tabernacle or heading to Salt Palace for a concert, this hotel makes it easy to enjoy the music without breaking the bank. With free WiFi, free parking, and a seasonal outdoor pool, it’s a practical pick for music fans on the move.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert lovers appreciate the hotel’s easy access to downtown Salt Lake City venues—roughly a 20-minute drive from popular spots like Trolley Square and The Tabernacle. If you're driving in or renting a car, the free parking is a big bonus. It’s also far enough from the city buzz to offer a quieter place to crash post-concert. While there’s no on-site shuttle, rideshares are readily available, even late at night. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a check-out time of 11:00 AM, you’ll have enough time to sleep in a bit after a late-night show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for affordable rooms near the music action
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list concert
  • Couples planning a low-key weekend getaway with a show
  • Fans needing a quiet night’s sleep after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want location without the price tag

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, there are several walkable and short-drive dining options nearby. Start your day with the complimentary breakfast—perfect after a night of dancing and singing along. Though there’s no room service or bar, the location offers easy access to late-night fast food and casual dining hotspots.

Nightlife Options

Nightlife starts at the venue, but if you're still buzzing after the show, Salt Lake City's downtown bars and lounges are just a quick drive away. Whether you're into chill craft beer spots or lively dance clubs, you'll find something to suit your vibe. Back at the hotel, it's more laid-back—ideal if you’re winding down instead of turning up.

What People Say

Guests highlight the great value for the price and friendly staff. Clean rooms and a convenient location are consistently praised by reviewers. Many note that it’s a solid choice for travelers who want a bed, a shower, and easy access to events—without unnecessary frills.

Areas for Improvement

Some visitors mention the hotel’s style is a bit dated and wish there were more amenities like a fitness center or in-house bar. Noise from nearby traffic may be noticeable, but most find it manageable with the door closed. The pool is seasonal, so don’t count on it during colder months.

The Bottom Line

Econo Lodge Midvale delivers exactly what concert-goers need: affordable, simple comfort with easy access to Salt Lake City’s top venues.

Poor

Liked: Cheap
Disliked: Everything else. Was kicked out for wide not having ID and no other reason after being there for a week and having no issues. Manager was very hostile and didn't care that it was 1am and that we had pets we needed to take with us. No Mercy and no remorse at all watching a husband and wife have to gather all our belongings and pets with no way to carry it all and leave.

Worst hotel/motel experience of my...

Liked: Leaving
Disliked: The room had missing smoke detectors, their loose wires hanging out. Missing exhaust fan in bathroom, wires hanging out. Filthy room made the bottom of our socks black. There was a wierd device next to tv probably to kill cockroaches in our room. There were punch holes in walls and bathroom door. I took pictures and reported them to appropriate Midvale authorities.

I can not recommend it.

Liked: there was none that I saw
Disliked: Where do I start. First off the was an incomplete wall repair that looked like a 3 year old did it. The walls were dirty, the mirror was not straight and was hung over the space where another one had been with out repairing the wall. I could see light all around the door. The toilet seat was loose. The aerator needed to be replaced. Who ever caulked the shower and around the toilet needs to dig it all out and do it properly. I suggest you find some one new who isn't on crack. I am a maintenance supervisor for a casino so I know what I'm talking about.

It was a nice place...

Liked: We were in town for a heart procedure for my mom at St. Mark's Hospital and after a horrendous first night experience at another establishment we checked out. The staff at the hospital recommended your facility to us and you did not disappoint!
