The Spotlight on Econo Lodge Midvale

Affordable Comfort Close to the Music Scene

Simple, no-frills, and budget-friendly, Econo Lodge Midvale is a clean and convenient spot in Midvale, just 12 miles from downtown Salt Lake City. Whether you're catching a show at The Tabernacle or heading to Salt Palace for a concert, this hotel makes it easy to enjoy the music without breaking the bank. With free WiFi, free parking, and a seasonal outdoor pool, it’s a practical pick for music fans on the move.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert lovers appreciate the hotel’s easy access to downtown Salt Lake City venues—roughly a 20-minute drive from popular spots like Trolley Square and The Tabernacle. If you're driving in or renting a car, the free parking is a big bonus. It’s also far enough from the city buzz to offer a quieter place to crash post-concert. While there’s no on-site shuttle, rideshares are readily available, even late at night. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a check-out time of 11:00 AM, you’ll have enough time to sleep in a bit after a late-night show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for affordable rooms near the music action
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list concert
  • Couples planning a low-key weekend getaway with a show
  • Fans needing a quiet night’s sleep after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want location without the price tag

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, there are several walkable and short-drive dining options nearby. Start your day with the complimentary breakfast—perfect after a night of dancing and singing along. Though there’s no room service or bar, the location offers easy access to late-night fast food and casual dining hotspots.

Nightlife Options

Nightlife starts at the venue, but if you're still buzzing after the show, Salt Lake City's downtown bars and lounges are just a quick drive away. Whether you're into chill craft beer spots or lively dance clubs, you'll find something to suit your vibe. Back at the hotel, it's more laid-back—ideal if you’re winding down instead of turning up.

What People Say

Guests highlight the great value for the price and friendly staff. Clean rooms and a convenient location are consistently praised by reviewers. Many note that it’s a solid choice for travelers who want a bed, a shower, and easy access to events—without unnecessary frills.

Areas for Improvement

Some visitors mention the hotel’s style is a bit dated and wish there were more amenities like a fitness center or in-house bar. Noise from nearby traffic may be noticeable, but most find it manageable with the door closed. The pool is seasonal, so don’t count on it during colder months.

The Bottom Line

Econo Lodge Midvale delivers exactly what concert-goers need: affordable, simple comfort with easy access to Salt Lake City’s top venues.

Passable

Liked: A night away and it is cheap, but not cheap enough for how run down the place is.
Disliked: There was 2 people in the room and they would only give us 1 pillow and 1 towels which you have ask them for. There is holes all over the walls and the landscape could touch he'll.

Slum

Liked: Exit off interstate.
Disliked: 1 pillow on bed. Blood on curtains. Cigarette burns on blanket. Walked in the room, looked around, and left. This was nonrefundable, and I didn't care. This site is awful.
