Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Fairgrounds

Very nice hotel and decent breakfast. Comfortable beds and nice rooms!

Liked: After miscommunication, got a suite instead of a regular room.

During fair time (Iowa State Fair), I expected there to be small issues. They were not a problem. I was irked that they stopped stocking breakfast items at 8:30 when breakfast isn't officially over until 9. They were overwhelmed with so many fair customers but should have been better prepared from experience to handle a larger than normal breakfast crowd for the entire time.

Liked: Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Disliked: Poorly stocked continental breakfast.

Disliked: How expensive it was and that booking dot. Com would not fully refund me when I at first tried to cancel this room. Hotel was fine with it but booking.com said there would still be a 95 dollar charge.

Liked: As an older couple easy access was important.
Disliked: Week days no yogurt or rolls. Fire alarm went off several times and frightened my wife when no one went around tell it was false each time.

Overall it was pretty good!

Liked: Love the sheets in the bed.
Disliked: When the smoke alarm went off at woke us at 4:30 am

Fine stay for the cost.
