Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Fairgrounds

Very nice hotel and decent breakfast. Comfortable beds and nice rooms!

Liked: After miscommunication, got a suite instead of a regular room.

During fair time (Iowa State Fair), I expected there to be small issues. They were not a problem. I was irked that they stopped stocking breakfast items at 8:30 when breakfast isn't officially over until 9. They were overwhelmed with so many fair customers but should have been better prepared from experience to handle a larger than normal breakfast crowd for the entire time.

Liked: Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Disliked: Poorly stocked continental breakfast.

Disliked: Not enough bed pillows for a king bed.

Liked: Not a single thing.
Disliked: The fact that we spent $170 for two nights to be able to swim and use the hotel tub and when we got there, the pool was down. We asked to cancel and just get a full refund and they absolutely refused to refund us.

Liked: The pool and hot tub were unavailable. I wish there could be some advanced warning for this. We could have stayed elsewhere.

Liked: No pool. Nobody told me either until after I was moved in for the night and already paid

Not great for a family...

Liked: Biscuits and gravy wasn't good. Not much of a variety of food.
Disliked: There were ants all over our bathroom. The building smelled horrible. The pool wasn't open and nothing we saw said it would be closed. It was also very loud in the hall and the room above us until 1 am.

Don't stay!! pay a little...

Liked: Pool closed, no hot tub. People screaming all night long 1 night. Afraid something going to happen to car. Shower head had sticky parchment pepper wrap around it so it wouldn't spray on wall. Over all ran down and look like crap
