Very nice hotel and decent breakfast. Comfortable beds and nice rooms!

Liked: After miscommunication, got a suite instead of a regular room.

During fair time (Iowa State Fair), I expected there to be small issues. They were not a problem. I was irked that they stopped stocking breakfast items at 8:30 when breakfast isn't officially over until 9. They were overwhelmed with so many fair customers but should have been better prepared from experience to handle a larger than normal breakfast crowd for the entire time.

Liked: Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Disliked: Poorly stocked continental breakfast.

Liked: The bed was comfy, room was clean, and pool was open and functioning. Perfect location for us as well

Disliked: Between Booking. Com and the hotel not being able to process the virtual credit card I ended up spending several hours on the phone trying to figure it out... Most of that time was spent being on hold. I missed my supper plans and I never was able to get breakfast at the hotel because they woke me up early and said that I need to figure out payment for them. Total bullshit because I had the receipt on my phone and on paper that I printed out before I left my house. 3 hours on the phone at the hotel in the morning trying to get it figured out... Missed my breakfast and morning meeting because of the hotel and booking. Com

Liked: I didn't like anything.
Disliked: Check in is at 3:00 p.m. I got to the hotel at 7:00 p.m. The person at the front desk called twice on my way there to verify if I was still coming.The room was dark, dim and musty. It smelled terrible of chemical cleaning. I would have rather slept in my truck. While I had already paid for two nights, I left and found another hotel. After I got to the other hotel, I called and politely asked for a refund for my second night. After being told no two times (24 hour notice), I told the person at the front desk that the room was so unpleasant that I had to go to another hotel. He would not listen until I yelled over the phone; at which he told me he would talk to his manager. He called back within 5 minutes and told me I would get a refund.After I got back home, two days later I received an email saying that my request of getting a refund was being reviewed. I have not heard anything back yet.Please, please do not stay here if you are concerned about your overall health for you or your loved ones.I was planning on staying to be closer to another function, but driving a little farther would have been worth it, in this case.
