Worst hotel in anchorage

Liked: It was in anchorage.
Disliked: Shady hotel, outside looked like my car would get broken into. Heard people having sex and vomiting in hallway. Do not come here regardless of how cheap. I stayed here 4 days and will never be back.

Disliked: The room was gross and it wasn’t even the one I paid for. I left after 1 hour and couldn’t even stay there.

Liked: Staff was reasonable, but could not make a room available in a sold-out situation.Not their fault, not to blame them.
Disliked: I made my reservation online at 10am the day of arrival.Upon arrival at approx. 10:30pm, I was informed that the hotel was sold out and that there was no room available for me."I paid when I made my reservation"'Morning staff didn't reserve you a room'This happens, it isn't a big deal... EXCEPT! IN Anchorage, Alaska, on a busy weeknight, the next available room I could book online cost 2x as much and was 3miles from city center, so I had to use taxi transport, as I didn't have a rental car.It didn't ruin the later part of my vacation, but it was an unwelcome twist to an otherwise very nice vacation.

Liked: The staff was nice and tried to help somehow.
Disliked: The room was dirty and in poor condition: stains on sheets and pillows, disgusting fridge with food scraps and hair, sticky substance on the surface of the furniture, dust everywhere even on the ceiling, broken coat rack, shower door not closing, apparent kick in the room front door. Hotel generally in poor condition: vending machines out of order in the lobby, litter in the lobby and corridors (empty cans, dirty mops, wheelbarrows full of anything and everything left in the corridors).Unsafe location, with many homeless people piling up in front of the hotel entrance and in front of our window overlooking the parking lot. The homeless were shouting and cursing all night long.As a family, we felt very unsafe and checked out early to go to another place.
