The Spotlight on Eastwood Hall

Peaceful country retreat with concert-ready convenience

Modern comfort meets countryside calm at Eastwood Hall, tucked away in 26 acres of landscaped gardens just outside the village of Eastwood. Only 10 miles west of Nottingham and a short drive from the M1, this relaxing hotel is the perfect base for music lovers looking to mix big nights out with a restful stay. With a fitness centre, indoor pool, and sauna, it’s a haven for pre- and post-show recovery.

Why Concert-goers love it

Eastwood Hall is far enough from the city to offer a quiet night’s sleep, but close enough to Nottingham’s concert venues for easy access—just a 20-minute train ride from nearby Langley Mill Station. The hotel’s flexible check-in from 14:00 and checkout at 11:00 make it easy to plan around your gig schedule. Plus, with late-night leisure facilities and peaceful surroundings, it’s a great place to recharge after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will love the games room with pool and snooker tables, while solo travelers headed to a dream concert will appreciate the quiet, secure setting. It’s also ideal for couples turning a show into a weekend escape, and budget-conscious fans who want good value without sacrificing comfort. If you’re after a quieter place to recover post-gig, this one’s for you.

Food and Drink Options

Start your day (or recover from the night) with a full English breakfast, served fresh every morning. The hotel’s restaurant also offers a locally sourced dinner menu, perfect for pre-show dining. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the onsite bar and dining options mean you'll stay well-fed without needing to venture far.

Nightlife Options

While Eastwood Hall isn’t in the heart of the nightlife scene, Nottingham’s bars and clubs are an easy train ride away. Back at the hotel, unwind with a quiet drink at the bar or challenge your friends to a game of snooker in the games room.

What People Say

Guests praise the peaceful setting, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. Many reviews highlight the relaxing atmosphere as a standout, especially after busy days or late nights. The indoor pool and spa facilities are also frequently mentioned as top perks.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor is a little dated in parts, and the location means you’ll need transport or a train to get into Nottingham city centre. But for most, the calm setting is worth the extra travel.

The Bottom Line

With its peaceful grounds, easy access to Nottingham venues, and after-show comforts, Eastwood Hall is a top pick for concert-goers looking to balance excitement with relaxation.

Superb

Liked: Great value for one night dinner, bed, breakfast, with pool/spa/gym. It far exceeded what I expected against what I paid. The evening meal in the Tempus restaurant was lovely. The staff Euan and Ben were great.
Disliked: The only thing that surprised me was that when I went to tip the excellent restaurant staff, I couldn't do so via the card machine.

Lovely hotel, excellent value for...

Liked: Excellent value for money. We were given a free upgrade when we booked it so had a nice spacious room. It didn’t cost much more to add dinner and breakfast and we enjoyed the restaurant as well as it being good value.
Disliked: Bit of queue at reception when we first arrived but nothing to worry about

A lovely night away.

Liked: Lovely grounds, great swimming pool, good menu selection and prices for dinner and breakfast. Superb quality for money. I liked having fans in the bedroom. Quiet location.
Disliked: The photos make it look like a period house but all the facilities I used were in a modern block. I’d guessed this would be the case so not really a disappointment, rather an observation.

Overall good

Liked: Monday breakfast was excellent as were the staff on duty. However Tuesdays was very poor. Nothing being filled up no scrambled eggs told only done to order but there on Monday. 1 cold fried egg left and cold hash browns a couple of sausages few beans all of which were cold. 2 muffins 1 croissant and a couple of pancakes.we told lady member of staff on duty about it but she was surly and said you've to order scrambled eggs. Nothing was filled up and we were well within time limit for breakfast. Evening meal menu was limited with no regular British food on it but the staff were excellent as were all other members of staff throughout our stay. As there were no pubs or restaurants near we ate in the hotel in the evening. Room was good but bathroom tiny. We asked for a ground floor room and got one which we were pleased about.
Disliked: Evening menu.choice. Attention to breakfast buffet when needs replenishing.

Good

Liked: This is a large hotel complex which caters for conferences and weddings as well as travelling guests. We had booked two double rooms for four of us on a half board basis. The rooms were of a generous size with a large bed and the all important tea and coffee making facilities. Whilst busy, we didn't have a problem getting a table in the restaurant although I think it is best to pre book. Similarly whilst the pool got busy at times, we were still able to enjoy a swim.
Disliked: On arrival we were advised that half board actually meant a meal allowance of up to £29.99 per person for meals in the restaurant. I didn't see this mentioned when I booked but in practice the four of us had 8 meals over the two days and we didn't pay any extra. On balance the arrangement worked well. We discovered a problem with the bedding as we were about to go to bed. A call to reception resulted in a visit to the room by the duty manager who resolved the matter even though it was late in the evening.
