Nice location and hotel, unfortunately...
Liked: Amazing setting in Kent‘s Countryside. So much atmosphere and history. Beautiful rooms and facilities.The night shift reception staff at our 2am check-out couldn’t have been more accommodating, helpful and professional. The bar staff was professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean.
Disliked: Reception staff at arrival on Monday, June 30, 2025, was incredibly unprofessional and not showing a hint of motivation for -or having any experience in-hospitality. Unfriendly, arrogant and rude. Arriving at a Motel6 would have been more pleasant and welcoming. This pretty much negatively impacted the entire 3 days and the experience we had there.

exceptional place however marred due...
Liked: Location was excellent, surroundings, building exceptional, grounds. Beautiful and spectacular english heritage. Gardens very beautiful however, require better up keeping, the fountain in the main garden (at the back) did not have enough water in and needed cleaning. There is a beautiful lake on the grounds of the manor however, completely overgrown and not maintained. It's beautiful open space for walks which we did enjoy but could be better with the lake restored. Room was spacious and had some beautiful old features around.
Disliked: For such amazing old English heritage the staff were disappointing. On the first day the reception member of the team was rude and not helpful at all. Very disengaging, did not provide any advice on the stay, where we were staying, what are the facilities on site, no info on bookings required for dinner and breakfast, we were not aware that required booking in advance. It seems unreasonable that meals times required bookings any way instead of guests just being able to turn up. There was no fridge in the room, no one has informed us that we could of asked for one. Bar closing time was before 11pm and there was no message given to the guests at the bar /garden area of last orders. It is disappointing that for such top price hotel there is no room service or bar orders facilities past evening hours.

Superb
Liked: Great location, great property, great service. Attention to detail makes the stay feel special. Check-in and check-out available throughout the day. The restaurant is well above average. All in all, great experience

I would not return
Liked: The swimming pool was nice
Disliked: The service was awful, there was no breakfast food as they’d run out of everything. I had mould in my apple juice which was disgusting. They were understaffed for the whole weekend. Very very disappointed
