The Spotlight on Eastside Lodge

Affordable Comfort Just Minutes from Portland's Music Scene

Modern, no-frills, and set in Portland’s eclectic East Burnside neighborhood, Eastside Lodge is just a mile from downtown and close to some of the city’s most iconic music venues. This lodge-style stay offers complimentary parking, free Wi-Fi, and a convenient location that puts both concert halls and late-night eats within easy reach. Rooms are simple but equipped with microwaves, mini-fridges, and air conditioning — perfect for recovering after a night of live music.

Why Concert-goers love it

Eastside Lodge is less than a mile from the Oregon Convention Center and just over a mile from the Rose Garden, making it an ideal spot if you're catching a show nearby. The neighborhood is lively but not overly noisy, offering a good balance between convenience and rest. The 24-hour front desk is a plus for late-night returns, and with check-in from 3:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM, there's time to sleep in a bit after a long night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for an affordable crash pad near the action
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples making a weekend getaway of their music plans
  • Fans who want a quieter room away from the post-show buzz
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who prefer spending more on tickets than lodging

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, the hotel’s location means you're surrounded by walkable late-night eateries and quirky Portland cafes. The rooms come with a mini-fridge and microwave, great for midnight snacks after a show. Free coffee and tea in the lobby help kickstart your morning, and there are plenty of breakfast spots nearby to fuel up post-gig.

Nightlife Options

Eastside Lodge sits right on East Burnside, known for its vibrant nightlife. You’ll find bars, lounges, and local craft brewpubs just steps away. Whether you’re looking to keep the night going or wind it down with a local IPA, you’re in the right place. Live music venues large and small are all within a short walk or rideshare.

What People Say

Guests love the value for money, praising the hotel’s clean rooms, friendly staff, and unbeatable location for shows and nightlife. Many note that the free parking is a big perk in a city where that's not always a given. The simple, retro vibe gets shoutouts for being exactly what’s needed for a short, music-filled stay.

Areas for Improvement

The decor is basic and might feel a little dated — but that’s part of the charm for some. There’s no on-site breakfast or bar, so it’s more of a home base than a hangout spot. Thin walls mean light sleepers might want to pack earplugs just in case.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Portland for live music and want a clean, affordable room close to the action, Eastside Lodge hits all the right notes.

All in all I was impressed with the lodge. The manager was very friendly; the room was clean; location perfect for a show at the Doug Fir Lounge and it wasn't overpriced.

Liked: It was more modern than expected and the price was good.
Disliked: Kind of weird bathroom setup, as the bed was right in front of the door.

The people in the office were extremely helpful. From out of town and they showed us very clearly how to get to the several places we wanted to visit.

Disliked: Nothing,

I've stayed at the Eastside Lodge several times over the past couple of years when in town for shows at the Doug Fir. The price is reasonable (or great, compared to those at the Jupiter Hotel) and the across-the-street convenience is fantastic. The front desk staff has been unfailingly nice and efficient on each of my visits. I don't bother looking around anymore when I'm Doug Fir-bound - my choice is automatically the Eastside Lodge!

Liked: Clean; nice decor; extremely nice and helpful front desk staff.
Disliked: East Burnside is a noisy arterial, but that's to be expected at a motel.

The room was clean and prepared. The shower is somewhat small but not a problem. Internet was decent.

Liked: Awesome service; the concierge was easy to work with. It was my first time booking a hotel and he helped me go through some of the rules and regulations surrounding the booking and was very understanding.

Not worth the price.

Liked: Friendly front desk.
Disliked: Old, outdated rooms with blood stains on mattress liner; no parking for more than one vehicle.
