The people in the office were extremely helpful. From out of town and they showed us very clearly how to get to the several places we wanted to visit.

Disliked: Nothing,

I've stayed at the Eastside Lodge several times over the past couple of years when in town for shows at the Doug Fir. The price is reasonable (or great, compared to those at the Jupiter Hotel) and the across-the-street convenience is fantastic. The front desk staff has been unfailingly nice and efficient on each of my visits. I don't bother looking around anymore when I'm Doug Fir-bound - my choice is automatically the Eastside Lodge!

Liked: Clean; nice decor; extremely nice and helpful front desk staff.
Disliked: East Burnside is a noisy arterial, but that's to be expected at a motel.

The room was clean and prepared. The shower is somewhat small but not a problem. Internet was decent.

Liked: Awesome service; the concierge was easy to work with. It was my first time booking a hotel and he helped me go through some of the rules and regulations surrounding the booking and was very understanding.

Not worth the price.

Liked: Friendly front desk.
Disliked: Old, outdated rooms with blood stains on mattress liner; no parking for more than one vehicle.

Liked: Great location! A quick walk downtown or to a MAX station is definitely possible. Clean room, great bed, and the coffee wasn't bad either.
Disliked: There's a guy living there who loves to complain a lot about his disability payments, but if you're not a smoker he'll leave you alone. Also none of this is really the hotels fault.

Liked: The cleanliness of the room.
Disliked: It was really pretty sketchy. People in the hall smoking dope, old facility. I really didn't expect this quality for the price. I know summertime in Portland is expensive, but pay the 20$ extra to avoid this place!

Great value for the money

Liked: I traveled to Portland on a budget for work and didn?t want to blow a ton on the hotel. The Eastside Lodge wasn?t fancy or super nice, but it was nice enough, the staff was friendly and it was a great value for the money.
Disliked: I am a woman and usually travel alone, so I don?t like hotels where you enter your room directly from the outside. Also, there was no latch, just the deadbolt. So while it was secure, those extra layers would have helped me feel more safe.
