Excellent. I'd stay there again.
Liked: It's the best location in New York - it's more interesting and unique to New York than any other neighbourhoods I've stayed at. The room itself was also bigger and with more amenities for longer stays - having a kitchenette makes a huge difference.
Disliked: I was happy with everything really.

Liked: staff was extremely helpful and professional house keeping was very efficient and very pleasant. and you cant beat the location and the fair price for the room! plus restaurants and clubs galore we had an awesome time at the east village hotel
Disliked: only thing that was a little bit of a pain in the butt , was no elevator and carrying our luggage up four flights of stairs, we stayed for 3 nights so we had a couple of heavy bags. also parking was a hassle , but hey it is new York after all

Bareable but Pricy
Liked: Perfect locale in a charming neighborhood! Nice to have a little kitchen for warming up leftovers. Great restaurants and homegrown coffee shops nearby.
Disliked: Lots of broken items in room (windowshade drawers), shower took 20 minutes every day to heat up, floors were filthy and covered with hair in both bathroom and main living area. I?m down with barebones comfort but cleanliness is crucial!

Cool apartment living on the...
Liked: The staff were excellent and very helpful. It is in an easy to reach area and has loads going on. The rooms are well equipped for self catering. We became quite fond of our room in its quirky style . Bed comfortable.
Disliked: It was noisy on the main road, we had problems with TV that didn?t work and an alarm that went off in a random fashion. Some rooms have better equipped and larger bathrooms. Ours was very small. A few things were loose or broken. No proper place to hang or put clothes.

Amazing location but a no-frills...
Liked: The location was perfect, the East Village is buzzing with bars, restaurants and good transport links to other areas of the city and across to Brooklyn.Having the little kitchen in the room was also handy and you do feel a little like it's your own apartment. They also leave you some coffee which is nice and much needed after a night of broken sleep. There is a no frills approach to the staff, you have to haul your luggage up many flights of stairs and you essentially check yourself in and out. The staff are very nice though and quickly rectified some issues we had -lack of towels/no ironing board and hairs on the bathroom floor. After we flagged these issues we were inundated with towels for the next few days and the bathroom was spotless every day. The bed is also comfy.
Disliked: It is very much a budget stay but sadly not at budget prices. It is also the nosiest place I've ever stayed in. You have to wear ear plugs but they don't make much of a difference. The noise from the traffic outside throughout might and early morning really does mean you don't get much sleep so be prepared for that and to need a lot of coffee, every morning!
